Given the excellent price on this ladder (compared to other products) I was a bit skeptical as to how well it would work. I was pleasantly surprised.

Once I had determined the exact location of where I was going to place the "mounting plate" that attaches the ladder to the tailgate (which took about 20 minutes because I did a few different "dry fit configurations"), it only took about 15 minutes to install. Just make sure you allow enough clearance from the top of the tailgate (2-3") if you have a "tonneau cover" installed on your truck. 

Also, make sure the "mounting plate" is not too close to the left (or right) edge of the tailgate because you will need enough clearance (about 3-4") for the ladder frame to clear the "truck box walls" when you close the tailgate.

The only "small issue" I have is that one side of the ladder rubs against the "tailgate support cable" when the tailgate is down and the ladder is deployed. However, because of the smart idea of the designer of the ladder, the "quick release pins" simply allow you to detach the ladder on the one side and flip the support "under the tailgate support cable". It only takes about 15 seconds to do this.

I weigh 200 lbs, and carrying stuff up and down is very simply and the ladder supports my weight very easily.

Only time will tell on how "sturdy & robust" the ladder will be after continued use. I live in a humid climate as well, so hopefully "rust" won't set in to the ladder, but if it does, I will simply buy another one as the price is so low.

2016 F-150 - Excellent low cost solution.

Works great.  mounted with little problem.  It would be best to assemble the ladder before installation mounting to make sure it is positioned properly when open.  The instructions do just the opposite.

Very pleased

My son put this on my truck for me.  It took alittle finesse but he found it wasn't as complicated as he thought.  He put it on and it works really well for me.  I like it and it stows out of the way when not needed.

Tailgate ladder

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] nice and sturdy, always there waiting to be used.

This is a great product with excellent design!! My only caveat is the flimsy hardware. The screws stripped out and I ended up using my own self-tapping screws. Other than that I love the product!

Truck bed ladder

For the price and amount of use, the ladder is perfect.  The only drawback is installation, especially if you have a drop in liner.  The instructions are rather basic so you should lay out every part on the tailgate and get a feel for it all before you drill the first whole.  When you drill, don't use the outside holes to begin.  Use a couple inner holes so you can move it around if it is the wrong position.  Other than that just take a little extra time and install it correctly.  You will find it works well.

Engineering

This was the second tailgate ladder I have bought.  The first was from JC Whitney and was a lot heavier duty but also almost twice the price.  The packaging on the newest purchase was in very bad shape.  I believe it was a return but all the parts were there so it didn't really matter.  I am 70 yrs. old and somewhat handicapped so this ladder is the only way to get into the back of my truck, which is a Toyota Tundra 4 X 4 and is quite high.  I am satisfied with the way it works.

Satisfied

Just  purchased a new Ram 2500 4x4 and realized the bed was too high for easy access. Saw this product and gave it a try. Works as described, easy to install and Walmart had the best price on the internet

TraXion tailgate ladder

Could have used better installation instructions.  I resorted to the website video to answer some of my questions.  I have one bolt and locking nut that was not threaded correctly and needed replaced.  Looks like will do the job and that is what I purchased it for.

Better than average.

We installed two of these units for seniors to access their pickup beds. We welded in another 3/4" rung close to the tops so the first step getting down would be closer and a shorter step when getting down. This helped dramatically.

Good ladder

INSTALLATION WAS SIMPLE AND RELATIVELY QUICK,
THIS NEWER MODEL HAS RUBBER BUMPERS AT HINGE END TO PREVENT RATTLING ON TAILGATE BUT THEY ALSO NEEDED TO INSTALL RUBBER BUMPERS AT BOTTOM OF LADDER WERE LADDER TOUCHES TAILGATE WHEN NOT IN USE TO PREVENT RATTLING AT OTHER END
AND RESTRAINING STRAP NEEDS TO BE MADE OUT OF BETTER QUALITY MATERIAL I CAN SEE THIS STORAGE STRAP WEARING OUT REALLY QUICK FROM JUST BEING EXPOSED TO WEATHER ELEMENTS
