We use the rack to securely house a rack server, a pair of switches, firewall, ups, etc. It is very versatile, well thought out, well built and sturdy. Locking side panels are great. Had one issue with lets not working on front and rear lock. Tripp Lite customer service was friendly and quickly sent replacement locks that were easy to install and worked perfectly.

The options with this rack should fulfill just about any needs in your server room or data center. So many ways to modify, configure and accessorize to your liking. Great for rack mount servers.

A good option for any Data Center.

We needed a 42u rack and after researching multiple brands, we chose the SR42UB. I honestly did not expect it to be such a quality product but everything about this rack is quality. It feels very sturdy and solid which is what we needed as we have many tower servers that have to fit in here. We bought 2 of the fixed shelves and 1 sliding shelf and even those are just as good of quality as the rack itself. It doesn't feel anything like those cheapy Dell racks. The vertical TrippLite PDU fits perfect in the back taking up no room and our TrippLite KVM feels just as good as the rack and shelves. I definitely have a different outlook on TrippLite and will always consider them in the future after this purchase.

Overall a great quality rack

I honestly wasn't too sure of what to expect when I ordered this. It looked like it had a lot of good ideas, but pictures only told so much. I was pleasantly surprised when we received it. It came fully assembled apart from the doors being packed inside it. When I started using it, I immediately appreciated the extra depth over our old rack, which provided plenty of room for cabling. Each U is marked which has made installing rails a much simpler task. The best part was when I started to install our PDU's, which were made by someone else. They had two standoffs on the rear for rack mounting, but I was very happy to see they worked perfectly with this rack. The price was also very good. It came much cheaper than several others I looked at, as well as some others we have on site. The SR42UB is what I'll be sticking to.

Lots of features for a great price

We build a lot of renewable energy projects and always specify this rack (SR42UB). We have it installed in corporate server rooms and substation control houses. The rack has many options that make it a fit for every environment and security requirement. What I like the most about the SR42UB is that all of the panels and doors can be easily removed/replaced and they are made of sturdy, light-weight steel. Grounding points for the rack are well placed and everywhere they are required.

I continue to buy this product

I needed a cabinet that was slimmer than the majority of standing enclosures. This perfectly fit the bill. It was easy to move since it had wheels, once in place, I set casters in place. The cabinet is sturdy and now houses my servers.

When clients and other guests visit our office, they love when I show them my rack. It's a physical representation of how securely and carefully we handle data and equipment in our technology consultancy. Highly recommended.

Sturdy, secure, impressive

The unit just arrived and unpacked. The design is clean and every detail has been thought through. The only issue found was rubbing by cardboard packaging on the side panels during shipping has abraded the paint.
