[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This maul was a huge game changer for me. Was using a regular axe with a sledge hammer, but using this new maul split the logs in less than half the time. Would definitely suggest this maul to friends and family!!!

Bought this for my 11-year old son.  We spent most of Saturday splitting wood (mainly maple and ash).  I use an 8lb maul to make the initial splits on 14-18" diameter logs.  Once they are split in 2 or 4 pieces, it's easy for him to split them down to sizes suitable to burn.  A little heavy for him, but lighter just doesn't split.  The handle is also a bit long for him, but we adjusted his grip to compensate.  Once he got the technique and control down, he made good progress and was very proud of himself.
