I love this curtain rod. The design is great, and the installation is easy and intuitive. It works great with my blackout curtains and is really useful for keeping light from coming through on the sides. I really appreciate the kind of anchors that were included for installation.

We went everywhere and I mean EVERYWHERE looking for something that was double and worked for what we wanted. I wish I went with Umbra much sooner.

Great rod! It's functional and sleek looking.  Best part is that it's affordable.  This is the 8th rod in my home from Umbra and happy with all of them.

These rods are easy to install, and look very nice in my home. I'm very happy with them, and will be ordering more as I complete each room renovation.

Twilight double blackout curtain rod

The double trod arrived in good time.  The attachments to the wall were ingenious and very clean looking. The trouble was with the wall anchors which were made of hard plastic that theoretically could screw into drywall.  But the could not screw into plaster plus drywall. We ended up using expansion screws, requiring a larger hole in the wall. Even then we were not entirely successful.  The weight of the drapes and blackout curtains on our large window pulled out one of the screw attachments.  We ended up buying epoxy and smearing it on the screws before pushing them into place,  as the strongest possible way of hold the rod and curtains in place. After lots of swearing and extra expenses we got the curtains up.  So the clever attachments were not beefy enough for the long rods. They had a weak point: 2 relatively small screws and hard plastic screw anchors per end are not enough for longer rods and anything but 3/4 inch drywall and non-weighty drapes.  It would have been better if the manufacturer included butterfly wing screws as well.

Perfect rod. Imperfect installation.

Good quality curtain rail. Looks smart, easy to install. The curved rail is a nice detail to enhance blackout. Would have got 5 stars is it came with better wall plugs. The ones provided didn't go well with the plaster board leading to minor damage and a less tidy finish. That being said the rail fixtures covered this up.

The rod itself is good and solid, but the hardware included in the package was useless. Literally none of the drywall anchors worked. My curtains weighed around 5kg (half the weight limit for the rod) and the anchors were being pulled out of the wall under the weight. I ended up using my own, longer screws and anchored the rod to studs.

If you want to use your own screws, make sure to use screws that have 1/4” flat heads and are around 2” in length (at least 1 1/2”).

Good rod, poor hardware

I wanted to love this because UMBRA has such good quality products. It is flimsier than expected as it is quite thin and can be jostled side to side when installed (even in studs). When the curtains on it are pulled, they catch the seams each time and eventually pull the middle rod out and then sag. Not worth returning as there are now new holes in the walls and the packaging is large to ship.

Really too bad

I bought this a little over a month ago and while we're pleased with the purchase, it's taken us awhile to get there. We have had the worse time getting the brackets to lay flat on the wall and not pull themselves down. We've had to move the curtain three times to three different spots on our wall because it wouldn't stay secured to the wall. We had to get really creative in getting this to hang correctly, not to mention getting it to stay up. We wound up using some really heavy-duty wall anchors when regular ones wouldn't cut it. The curtains we used were normal, not heavy or unique on any way. Now that it's up and in place we like it, but wouldn't buy it again.

Decent but not exceptional

The inner rod is missing. So I can not fully extend the curtain rod. There should be 3 rods with three different diameters, however as there are for the other arm, one going into the other. But for one arm, there are two of the second rod, meaning I have no smaller diameter rod for the end piece.
