I purchased three different styles of jump ropes to preview before purchasing additional ropes for gym for elementary children. The segmented skip rope was the easiest to use for novice jumpers. The sound of it hitting the floor or pavement is a helpful timing cue, and the cord does not get tangled readily. The other two ropes I tried were purchased from Walmart, produced by Spectrum. The Spectrum speed jump ropes would, I think, be useful for speed jumping by intermediate jumpers; I did not care for the spectrum nylon rope jump ropes because they did not hold their open shape unless turned fairly fast.
This review is for the 8' segmented rope; the other lengths of segmented rope that I tested (7', 16') also worked fine.

I bought these for my sons class. He said they kept the girls off the play set. Teacher said they are great. Great value!

Great for 4th grade!

As a beginner ( I have not jumped rope since six grade!), I think it is good. I need a lot of practice because I could only do one or two jumps at a time. I also need to clear a space. I loved to jump rope as a young girl.

I love these jope ropes. I bought 4 and 2 16" as well to teach my girls how to double Dutch. We love it. still reminds me of when i was in elementary. great product.

This is almost exactly like the ones they use to have in the schools. It does have weight to it so you might have to get use to that. It is worth the money.

I love them good for a 7 year old. There long enough for an adult to use.

I got 2 ropes one for my 4yr old and 7yr old, there perfect it reminded me of the rope I usto use in school.

So many jump ropes out there are not worth a centavo! This one is perfect! I bought this for my 7, 8, and 10 year old granddaughters. It will last :)

Every time I tried using it , wacky me on my foot. I don't like it
