Otto’s sleek profile and matte finish look great in any kitchen, bathroom or entryway space. The innovative sensor pump technology automatically dispenses a fixed amount of liquid soap – not too much, not too little - helping reduce waste and saving you money on supply costs. Otto’s fluid level indicator window lets you see when it’s time to refill and the large, top-load refill opening makes topping it up quick and easy. Operating on four AAA batteries (not included), Otto measures 3.5 x 4.5 x 10 inches (8.9 x 11. 11.4 x 25.4 cm). IMPORTANT INFORMATION: After inserting the batteries, if the blue light comes on and you hear the motor but the soap doesn’t dispense, try pouring the soap into a separate container, then fill the pump with hot water (not boiling) and let sit for 5-10 minutes until cool. Put your hand in front of the motion sensor and repeat until the water starts to flow well. Now empty the water and refill the pump with soap. If you find the brand of soap you have purchased is too thick, try adding some water to thin it out. I have now bought 7 of these dispensers and am very pleased with these hands free dispensers. The first 4 were for my home which I purchased back in 2012 and they are (mostly) still kicking.  I was so pleased with how they worked in my home that I purchased an additional 3 for my office to use as hands free hand sanitizer and soap dispensers amidst the coronavirus.  I literally do not know how we have gone this long without having these hands free dispensers in our office! Now, if our building would just place these in the communal restrooms. Buy these.  You will not be disappointed!

Great little dispenser

This is the third soap dispenser were have purchased from Umbra.  The first one was several years ago to go with a vessel sink.  We liked the automatic dispenser concept and function so last year we bought a couple more from another company.  These both failed within several months.  We replaced them with 2 more Umbra dispensers.  They keep working.  They have changed the design a bit since our first one.  They are larger and dispense less soap.  I think both changes were excellent and needed.  The only annoyance with the first one is it needed to be refilled often.  The changes corrected this nicely.  The amount of soap dispensed with the new ones is entirely adequate.

Reliable

I love the look of this dispenser, & it functions perfectly, easy to set up, easy to use. BUT I purchased it for use for dishwashing soap, as it described in the write up. Unfortunately, it did not say that dishwashing soap must be diluted before use.   That changes the efficacy of the soap.

Beautiful!

I was a little disappointed in the Otto Automatic Soap Dispenser when it arrived. It is not as attractive in person as it is in photographs. The outer shell is certainly not nickel - it is plastic colored a questionable shade of "nickel".

The unit is also just a little bit too large - but I can live with that.

Lastly, what is missing, is some control over the amount dispensed. I find I have to put my hand below the nozzle and move my hand away 3 times to get enough soap to properly wash my hands. A three-way switch with "single", "double", "triple" would do the trick.

Otto was a bit of a disappointment

Amount of soap dispensed is minimal and hard to get 4 or 5 squirts.  The unit is plastic, not metal and although attractive in terms of style .. just okay in overall utility.

Just - okay

I bought this 3 weeks ago and at first it worked well.  Then it only dispensed soap sometimes and now it won't work at all.  I am extremely disappointed because it was very expensive.  My husband is an engineer and even he can't fix it - he says the pump is faulty.

Only worked intermittently and then it quit

This dispenser is larger than expected. But despite it's size on my sink...it doesn't even work well. It barely dispenses any soap and takes a long time to do so. We have since given up on this and are using our dawn soap. I was hopeful to have a touches soap dispenser, but this one is awful. I will be purchasing a simple human dispenser once this horrifically slow dispensing piece of junk runs out of soap... it could be quite some time.

Terrible dispenser

I bought and after a day it wouldn't work. The company sent me a second one. After about 3 hours of use it quit working. Save your money don't buy this is junk

Junk

Had the dispenser for little less than a month at my kitchen sink. I purchased it because of COVID and needing to wash my hands more when I came in from outside.  Using regular soft soap the pump went out within that time.  I followed the directions they provided to clean the pump but that didn't work.  Poor design for the pump you shouldn't have to dilute soap in order for the product to work.  Seems to be a common problem when you read other review.

Not Designed For Frequent Use

Disappointed. Pump stopped working after 2 weeks of use. The sensor light comes on, but nothing dispenses.
