When we moved, our local wireless Internet would not reach all areas of our home. We bought this product at the advice of a man from the Internet company. We were advised to place the device centrally located between the modem and the area that needed service. After experimenting with some different locations, I was pleased to find the service worked great in the dead area after plugging in this WiFi range extender. In order to make it work, I had to unlink from our main Internet network so that it could find our modem. Once it found our Internet, I was able to go back to our regular network. With the wide range of options given, it's easy to find one that will make this product work for your WiFi Internet needs in hard-to-reach places.

I bought it because 4 computers and 3 telephones work at my home due to  COVID.
It made my husband's computer(the most far from our modem.)crashed the middle of meeting sometimes. I could not see how did it change exactly. But my husband is in peace now. So, it's worth for us:)

Make it our family peaace!

Bought a new modem that had less strength than the previous one. So... read about this and decided to give it a try. Plugged it in ib thesame room as the midem/router. They did their thing then I moved it to another room and presto... wifi was stronger. If this old guy can do it... then anyone can :)

easy peasy

I am very happy with this product. It was well worth the expense. My internet providers box gives a terrible signal and the booster has significantly increase my family's ability to enjoy using our Wi-Fi dependent electronic devices though out the house.

Well worth the money!

This item works wonderful for us. We have a one story 1400 square foot home and our wifi is in the main bedroom on one side of the home. For some reason the other side of the home wouldn't get good wifi but after adding this we do!!!! So glad I bought it.

Greatness

My router is located at the extreme end of a fairly large home, and I was periodically having difficulty getting good reception for my smartphone in various locations inside of  the home, and even poorer reception on the front porch and back patio that were some distance from the router. I now tend to get very strong reception with the TP-LINK TL-WA850RE N300 Universal WiFi Range Extender throughout the house, and strong reception on the front porch and patio. This product works well for me.

Does The Job

This product works for the purpose intended. It was fairly easy to set up although the first method recommended using the WPS button didn't work for me. The second method connecting to a computer was not too complicated. It improved wifi reception to my most distant bedroom from two bars to four bars.

Good value

This is a very easy to set up wifi extender. I wasn't able to connect using the first method but I was able to connect using the second method option A. This device isn't an eyesore when in use either.

Unfortunately, I plan to return this product. I was trying to use it to make my Roku and some websites download faster. But that's not the intended use. I will say that it did provide great signal in all areas of my home though. If I ever need a wifi extender in the future, I will repurchase this one!!

Did as expected

If there is no WPS button on your router, then you will have to program it on your computer. This is not hard, but once programmed, it cannot be moved to another location. The company has to send you a new program to enable that.
Also, if you have an Arris router from the cable company, the encoding of the signal causes a lack of internet connection when the IP address changes. I suspect this is true of all extenders as they do not really broadcast the original signal, but re-encode it.

Works well with WPS button

This unit apparently works for many buyers, based on the reviews on other websites, but I could not get this unit to register with my equipment. I was using an iMac with OS 10.6.8, a Netgear WNR1000 router coupled with an RCA modem. It's possible that my ISP (Comcast) may be the main culprit in this situation. Many people complain about issues with Comcast and various types of 3rd party hardware. That being said, I wish anyone purchasing this unit the best of luck.
