I had one several years ago %26 somewhere in moving it got lost.  Kept looking to replace it %26 finally found it online at Walmart!  It's very safe %26 the V Blade does not dull on this slicer.  I especially like it for potatoes(all slices have same thickness)!  Great for cabbage also! 

If you like cucumbers, onions, %26 thin cut celery, you will appreciate this too!  No cut fingers!

My wife and I decided to become vegan and a good mandoline is very necessary. Did some research and found that the Swissmar V Prep Mandoline is a staple in the the chef world. This particular mandoline gives you so much variety that I'm still learning all its different functions. I took to YouTube to see them. This is a must have.

Makes Life So Much Easier !!

This is by far the best kitchen gadget i own. Ever since i got it, there hasnât been a day without using it. I love how easy makes prep in the kitchen. It is extremely easy to use and the quality is without a doubt the best. I like that is comes with the storage case, but that is must since the blades are extremely sharp. Highly recommend!

I have had my original V-prep for 20 + years. I use it 2-3 times a week.
Time will tell if this one holds up as long. It looks just like the original one.

Swissmar V-Prep wouldn't want to be without it!

Easy to use but scary - the v-blade is extremely sharp and care is needed when handling, especially when cleaning.  Made fast work of oversized zucchini.

Seissmar mandoline slicer

I had this item for many years and loved it.  Our house burned down and i had to replace it.  The only thing I don't like, is that it had a storage case I could attach to the cabinet door and have easy access.  This one has a storage or container to keep food in when slicing, however, you cannot attach it and have easy access to it.

Works Great

my rating is mostly because it isn't as easy to use as I had hoped. I think I need some practice on it. I also am waiting for one of the cut resistant gloves. The blades are indeed very sharp and I don't want any issues there. Hopefully after a bit of use I will have a higher rating for it.

new to a mandoline

The safety guard will not grip the food. You have to force the food through pressing down very hard while you do it. I found this to be unsafe. The blades are very sharp and it cuts the perfect size french fries.
