Provides maximum power with extra zinc protection.

Suitable for high-performance and classic vehicles.

Provides smooth engine operation with added zinc.

Valvoline VR1 oil is set up for racing engines and other high performance spec engines. Triumph TR6 owners have recommended it and I have used in in my TR6 for several years. The engine seems to run fine with it. I see high oil pressure and no problem related to the oil at all. The Zinc additive is supposed to be very good at avoiding wear.

My oil of choice.

walmart.com

I buy top of the quality anything I buy for for my car nothing cheap only the best. Why would I wanna buy a cheap part for it to go out or not work? I like my cars to last thank you very much for the great product. Yes, it's expensive but it's what I need.

This is my go-to choice for vintage cars that need a heavier oil with a high ZDDP (zink) content to protect against the wear characteristics of older cars. The miles don't matter, vintage cars need oil changes every 3000 miles (or in my case, I change oil maximum 18 months even if the miles have not hit 3000).

Great conventional oil for vintage automobiles

I use nothing else in my 76 Triumph Bonneville, as it shares engine and primary oil. My bike requires Zinc oil and it works great, as my wet clutch gets gummed up. With regular oils I have a hard time freeing them. With this oil I pull in the clutch lever and kick through one time, next kick fires the engine to life. Highly recommend this oil.

I love this product

Valvoline

I've been running 20W-50 VR1 with a K&N filter in my 79 Alfa for nearly 3 years now and it is hands down the best oil in its category! My engine is a mild street/track day build and it out-performs every other oil I've used. I run no external oil coolers and it has great oil pressure at +185 engine temps after beating on the car. Keeps the engine nice and healthy and I've never seen any metal flakes during oil changes! This is the only oil I will ever put in my engine!

10/10 Best Racing Oil

We have been using Valvoline VR1 for 15 years now and have to say it has never let us down. We have had motors that have run 40 or more shows on this oil and the bearings look almost brand new. We recommend this oil to every racer that comes in the store.

Been using this great oil for 15 years

I was recommended to this oil by a friend of mine, for my classic muscle car. great oil for high performance engines. Will keep buyig. John J.

Been using VR1 in old flat tappet engines for years and it's never let me down because it has EVERYTHING these engines need. I currently use it in my 74 F100 with a 360 FE.

Great for older flat tappet engines!

Love this oil. I've run valveling and everything I own. And this oil runs in my scag mower, and I will have nothing but that in it. It makes this thing run like a brand new mower. Thank you.

I've used vr1 racing oil for years. I recently purchased 12 quarts in March and when I recently checked the website I noticed that the zinc content has been lowered from 1400 ppm to 1100 ppm. I'm concerned that this is no longer safe for flat tappet camshaft. I've reached out to Valvoline with no response. Total crickets. I will be looking for a different product.

10W-30 Now lower in Zinc, only 1100 ppm
