For my use I probably could have gotten by with a smaller unit though - the smelly stuff should be emptied as often as possible right?

The wood matches my floors perfectly and I'm so impressed by the precision of the predrilled holes.  Easy to unpackage and very little mess. I think this will easily hold 8 hats and scarves and  nine or ten pairs of shoes.
