Until you have a child and experience your 1st carseat, you assume they're all the same...That is not the case! My sons infant carseat was another brand, which worked great for the 1st year, but his Grandmother had an "extended age" version of that brand in her car and I had ALWAYS hated it, so looked for other brands after he out grew his infant seat for my car.  I purchased another model Britax Clicktight when my son turned 1 and fell in love instantly! The quality and ease of use was uncomparable, so when looking for a highback booster, I had ZERO other brands in mind.  This carseat was exactly what I had expected and has met ALL expectations.  Before you even install a Britax carseat, the weight of it alone puts your mind at ease that it will be number 1, SAFE for your child and then the ease of installation and comfort of the seat for your child, how easy it is to clean and adjust are just added bonuses.  If you are looking at the price tag and second guessing if it will be worth it, don't! This carseat along with any other Britax is worth every single penny! I love it and so does my son. My son is only 3 and still fits his inital Britax I purchased, but I finally got fed up with the one in his Grandma's car and swapped it out and put this new one in my car.  You will not be disappointed, I promise!

I purchased this carseat for my 7 year old daugher. She is on the small side and had recently grown out of her boulevard. I had been researching different seats as I really wanted to keep her in a harness but knowing that many people have their children in boosters by this age. I love this seat. It is very comfortable for her, and she has tons of room to grow. I am comfortable knowing she is still harnessed. The install was absolutely amazing and is as easy as other reviewers say it is. I would love to buy more of these for other vehicles and for my younger 4 year old son. My plan is to keep her in this for a year or two and then move my son into it and buy her a true booster. Worth the cost!!

Amazing carseat! Wish I had purchased earlier

I have had previous versions of the Frontier for my older child and purchased the Frontier 90 for my 3.5y/o who just turned forward facing. I absolutely love the ClickTight installation, it is so easy even my husband can do it. The no re-thread harness makes adjusting the harness height a breeze.

Great Combination Seat

Great seat, click tight is the best invention since they started making car seats. My only complaint is with tensioning the child straps, as mentioned in other reviews this is extremely difficult. I have figured out you need to reach behind the seat take up the slack as you are tightening th front strap. It is very heavy as well, but that is expected based on the the level of safety features in this seat. This is our third Britax and wouldn't think to buy any other seat, they all seem subpar to this Britax and my child is worth it.

Love this seat but it does have a minor flaw

I bought this carseat 6 months ago for transporting my 3 yr old grandchildren who are similar in size but different as can be in personalities. They can get in by themselves and never object to being fastened. Easy to adjust for summer vs winter clothing. Fall asleep in comfort or see out the window eagerly. They and I love the water bottle/snack holder. It was important to get red color for grandson.

So easy to move between our cars safely

I turn to the NHSI for seat reviews and this was one of the top three. I couldn't be happier. My son is on the low end of the weight recommendations but he's tall enough. The seat is very secure. The two cup holders with the little indented tray compartment allows him to put little toys in addition to a cup, or two. Many seats just hold cups with no extra room. I am OCD on safety and this seat can be put in place to where there is zero budge. I still have his other seat in another vehicle (Safety 1st with side impact protection) and I could not get that seat in as tight as this one. I'll not have to buy another car seat as this one will grow with him until he is out. It's easy to install and I honestly am very pleased. Walmart was also the cheapest place I could find this seat so I'd highly recommend the seat as well as Walmart being the place to purchase. This seat is definitely worth the money. Our little ones are priceless.

Research backs this seat and so do I

I have two daughters, one of them uses this car seat, I said that I would get the best seat for her. It is so easy to install, we use it in harness mode, but sometimes swich to booster mode. She loves it, my older one stopped using her car seat at about 9 years, but my little one is 12 now and still fits the harness, she has a few positions left.

Amazing

My husband is a car seat tech and I used to ALWAYS have him install the car seats when they needed to be moved. I am extremely comfortable with installing this car seat for our 3 year old. Although the weight is up there, it brings be comfort that she is protected and the seat is stable.

Easy to Install PROPERLY

Just got this installed last week. Previously had a Britax Marathon 70, which our 3 1/2 year old could still fit but he is so tall for his age that it is getting tight. I wanted a five point harness for as long as possible & love the safety & comfort of Britax so we went with the Frontier 90 which converts from a 5 point harness to a booster. So much easier for my little one to get in & he loves the cup holders to hold "his stuff". So far so good!

Safety & comfort

The the seatbelt-mounting mechanism of Frontier 90 really is as easy and secure as advertised. It really did only take a few seconds and is secured to the car rock-solid. It seems very strong and protective. It also is reasonably compact, front-to-back, so the front seats in a smaller car can be slid back fairly far still leaving room for your kid's legs. There is an attachment point on the pad just under the shoulder straps that comes un-velcro'ed often but that's not a big deal. The bigger issue is that the harness is extremely hard to tighten with a kid in the seat. It takes a ton of force to pull the strap enough that the harness tightens sufficiently around your kid. Ultimately, it stops and you cannot pull it at all. On every other seat I've used, the harness tightens smoothly, easily and precisely. This is a real frustration with the Frontier 90 that otherwise seems like an excellent seat.

Impressive, but with one challenging flaw

I was excited about the improvements made to this seat over the 85, which I also have. But that enthusiasm didn't last long. My son has been using this seat for maybe a year and the seat cover no longer fits properly. It hasn't been machine washed or dried, and was only taken off for a hand washing one time. Since then it has never fit right. The clips on the bottom cover do not hold at all and the cover is constantly slipping off. No matter what I do, the clips just don't "clip" on to the seat. I could buy a replacement cover, but I feel that a seat costing as much as this one shouldn't be having problems like this. This is my fourth Britax seat, the third that has had some kind of major problem. Maybe I'm just unlucky, I don't know.
