Value For Money

A nice little lathe.
It works great.
I was concerned about ordering a tool from an online seller because of service.
I did have an issue with a loose bearing on the feed wheel but the seller gave me great service!
I am very pleased with the seller and would buy from them again.

Mini Lathe

Was leary of buying this from 3rd party through Walmart but price was good and it was packed well. Works as advertised and quite a nice little Lathe to boot!

Metal Lathe

This lathe was my first purchase from Vevor 

Strongly recommend adding a quick change tool post with height adjustment to the cart as the first upgrade . The stock tool post will work for basic tuning needs but you will need to buy smaller tooling to work on the stock tool post . 

Overall I'm pretty happy about my purchase and was able to start making various parts for my current project. I have a couple more up coming parts to make  for my project that will need some tail stock attachments and I am looking forward to my next tool purchase .

I am no machinist but always wanted a small lathe to play with.   There was not a lot to setting it up and getting ready to use.  I do recommend you go over every nut, bolt, washer and screw to make sure nothing has come loose in transit and everything is locked down and tightened.   I have already used this little lathe a ton and it is a great addition to the the shop for light duty work.   SO far I love it.

Love it

I'll be writing this review from the perspective as a new lathe user, and a hobbyist. Mileage may vary for more professional users.

I want to work both wood and metal; i have limited (very limited) space, and won't be working on larger things. The largest pieces would be 2.5"x2.5"x12" wood spindles to cut them to cylindrical; and metal pieces much smaller. 

I was impressed by the packaging; it was sturdy and well packed in a wood crate. Even though the courier delivered it on it's end, despite a very clear "THIS WAY UP" printed on the front, the lathe was bolted to the wooden base and didn't move a millmeter and all was well. 

As with any machine on the cheaper side of the market, it needed an initial cleanup, but surprisingly little compared to other tools i've bought. took apart the cross slide, wiped and brushed down all the parts, greased the screw shaft and gear teeth, oiled the surfaces, and it was ready to go!
Within expectations for this cost, the surfaces were pretty good. For some there's pitting/scratches, but not enough to get in the way. 
the headstock seems to run true and without vibration; the chuck was quite a bit beefier than i expected, and the jaws move well and firmly grasp, no noticeable slack. The tail stock appears to clamp itself into the center very well. 

The cross slide has a little takeup when changing direction, but this being a manual lathe, not too concerned about backlash/slop. Can move in all directions with good accuracy. 

Built a wood tool rest to clamp onto the cross slide, and then tried using hand tools, worked great for wood too. 
Tested some mild steel, and aluminum, also great cuts first try. Well as great as a noob would expect. 

All in all, great tool for the price, as long as you have your expectations in the right place. Very happy with purchase. Will update if time proves different.

109 lb wood crate arrived from VEVOR, Delta, BC to Toronto w Free Shipping via Fedex Ground in 5 Days! (Shipped day after order so 6 Days A Wed. to next Tue.). INCREDIBLE! No cost above checkout price. Estimate was 10 to 16 bus. days.
Minor crate damage: 1 of 4 square 4" wooden bottom blocks knocked off, 2 pcs of side stripping broke off
Lathe condition: 
Working!

Problem Feedback:
1. Motor mount lock nuts were loose. Bolts were tight, not bent (very vulnerable in shipping) mount should be reinforced more, belt was in line, feed engages and disengages.
3. Gears: 3 pairs of plastic gears are duplicates. Cannot be used for Imperial threads as advertised with these gears. Not good. No 72 tooth gear(s). Gears should be specified in detail. Need to buy set of metal gears.
2. Cracked plastic chuck shield by hinge and when swinging it down it hits controller box (not aligned). Should be aluminum.
3. Should come with some basic cutting tools!
4. Manual is useless. TOC refers to page with Specifications but it is just a blow up image with labeled parts. I found drill chuck and MT2 taper for tailstock (and more) at Busy Bee Tools.

It was clean and Fwd Rev and Var. speed work.

Chuck face jaws close tight but the 3 surfaces while seem aligned have ground angles that do not match.

The 2 black adjustment wheels have a lot of slop and look plastic. Overall, a great find and I took a chance because the reviews here made clear the various risks and value. To get this from a CDN source they wanted $175 to deliver LOCALLY and I couldn't even find an outlet with stock.
