After reading multiple reviews, I knew what I was getting into. Suprisingly the quality of the lathe wasn't as bad as some of the reviews I read. Still took it all apart clean, lubricated, shimmed and adjusted for proper movement. QTP is a must, in my opinion. Note that a lot of the gib screws are loose out of the box. The lathe is well packaged and arrived within 2 days of the purchase date.

I got this for machining small parts for firearms that you cannot buy anymore and other parts. It's been useful for this use. The tool post holder is the weak link. It is of serious poor quality. I had a friend mill me a nice one. The indexing point for rotation is not square and cannot be squared so I remove the spring and lock post all together. It's easier to square it off that way. Otherwise a useful purchase for a small mildly powerful mini lathe.

Not bad.

After more than 40 years as machinist/setupman and cnc programmor, i am really impressed by this small lathe quality. Every module are very accurate, with minimum end play. I didnt yet test it, but i know it will be very usefull for accurate project. I will send more notice after serious testing.

Over-all, a good mini lathe for the price. I wanted the metal gears, but was surprised to see that they where mounted crooked... The tool carrier has a lot of play.  So you must expect to put some work into it to make it fully functional. Not an out-the-box perfect tool.
