I am a gas fitter by trade and I bought this mostly just to see if it was possible to even have a functional tankless for ~$200cad.

Spoilers: It is.

If you set your expectations within reason, this unit will astound you. 

First, the bad: No certifying body stamps (UL, CSA, etc.), obviously. The instructions are mostly worthless, hook it up and go from there. The water connections are NOT NPT like the gas. I've been led to believe they may be BSP.
At full flow in my house, 40psi, 1/2" PEX, it was unable to heat my incoming water from 40F an acceptable temperature, maxing out around 85F. It does have a flow limiting valve which I was able to use to get to a much better 125F using.

Now, the good: It's small, it's light and easy to install, and it is, without exaggeration, 1/10 the cost that I could purchase a tankless unit for, even being in the industry. I've purposefully waited over a month since installing to verify that it wouldn't break immediately and it's been flawless. 

A little installation tip to you DIYers: The unit comes with several gaskets. If you take a 1/2" FPT to 1/2" PEX fitting, stick a pen through the PEX end, and then double stack the gaskets with a little Vaseline between them on the pen, it will seal between the bottom of the water ports and the inside of the fitting with no leaks. This was easier than attempting to figure out the actual thread of the ports on the unit for me.

Highly recommend, a rare case of something seeming too good to be true, but then actually delivering.

Great product. Amazing look, clear and well lighted info panel. Works fine. Would have appreciated measurements or at least info about  some kind of wall finishing plate (Aluminum or galvanized) to install inside and outside to pass the chimney throught.

I have only a one bedroom home . This water heater is a prefect fit .. works good ,just a minute or so to get it warmed up   Quite happy Ron
