This is a great 22-lb anvil for the average mechanic shop, heavy enough for beating on when you need to bend or straighten parts, yet small enough to store away when not needed. Good quality steel, should last my lifetime. For blacksmithing, get a bigger anvil. I also have a 100-lb anvil for serious work.
