Not what I was expecting of this

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The  mounting straps do not reach the full width of a Ford Escape. If you're not careful, it seems like it's locked, but it's not.  not a universal fit as advertised.

Too narrow

Piece of garbage.  Got it out of the box, put on my car per the poorly worded instructions.  Put my kayak on it and on my drive home going 50 in a 55 the strap snapped on the side causing the whole mount to come off and my kayak fell off my roof with the rack.  Piece of garbage.
