Connection

As A Gift

My 5 year old daughter got this as a gift from my parents for Christmas and we love it! Parents have complete control over what can and cannot be viewed, you can also set a timer for how long they're allowed to play each day. We have wifi so downloading and everything has not been an issue for us, but I could imagine that would be a big issue for someone without wifi access. The apps available for download are reasonably priced and it's great that everything is broken down by age. It's also great that it grows with them! It's not a toy that they quickly outgrow and gets thrown in their closet. Will definitely be getting one for my younger son for his next birthday!

I bought it a mounts ago. I'm just trying to get  ytube on there. The tablet should come with songs on it, like Wheels on the bus. Or Daniel tiger them songs.

Great tablet

Without being able to register the product you can't do a whole lot. They need to fix the web site then maybe we will enjoy this more

Web site maintenance

I bought the pink version because my 5 year old wanted a tablet like everyone else in the family. We own the Innotab 2 so it made sense to upgrade so we could use the 12 cartridges in our collection. The cartridges require a download to make them compatible with the Max. I spent all of Christmas day setting it up and downloading 12 cartridge downloads. The downloads work at first but then after time would need reloading. This is annoying especially if you're not near a wi-fi signal. Also not every cartridge is compatible with the Max and vtech handled this transition poorly. The recharge cable connection steadily got so loose after a few weeks that the cable would not stay connected. I would have to maneuver the wire and sit it perfectly to get a connection. This frustrated my child to no end. The first week the stylus pen's rubber tip broke rendering it useless. The only thing good to say is we did enjoy the ability to text to a smartphone via the app for the app store. I would wait for vtech to fix these bugs and release a max-s before buying.

vtech dropped the ball

Disappointed with the available tablet information. I reviewed this product and did not see any mention to the fact that cartridges must be DOWNLOADED by wifi rather than a plug and play mode. Why have a cartridge if you still have to connect to wifi to download it? Yes, I bought it and expected to use the cartridge as a plug and play. I understand that apps and most of the other functions require wifi. A simple statement about using a cartridge on the InnoTab Max on the product information would be appreciated.

WIFI required to begin ANY interaction with tablet

We bought this item for my 4 year old grandson for Christmas (2014) and it lasted just about a week before it totally quit working. It shut off and would not come back on. We couldn't even do a factory reset on it. Each of the 3 extra cartridges that we bought to go with it had to be downloaded before using and the battery life isn't that great.

My grandson is exceptionally smart and it barely held his attention. He was limited on the games he played and could not download his favorite games like Angry Birds, Temple Run, Temple Run 2, and so on.

So we took the product and the cartridges back (with the receipt) and had no problem getting a complete refund. In turn, we bought him the Nextbook tablet to replace it and he has had a blast. The only problem I have now is getting him off of it after several hours to recharge it.

Disappointed in this product

I purchased four of these for my grandchildren and just gave them to their parents to set up before Christmas. Neither parents could register the tab as the site had been hacked, when calling them they were told this happened in November and they were still working on it, wish I would have known this before I spent hundreds on something they can not use. When this happened the remaining tabs should have been removed from the store shelves so no one else wasted money on a gift that cannot be used.

sounds like it would be good

I bought this item for my son's birthday was excited to open and get started but we noticed bugs right off the bat. Web browser keeps crashing same with all the desktop icons just keeps jittering i'm very disappointed in Vtech with this item. Because of the constant crashings my son got frustrated one day and broke it so i couldn't return it for refund.

NOT SO GOOD

My kids had 2 of these and it's a waste of money. You can only expect to get 6 months to a year out of these and that's with light use! Very disappointed...especially considering the extra you pay for the games!

Garbage

Bought this in November for my 18 month old for Christmas. Was so excited to give it to her given she loves Minnie and Frozen, and had purchased those cartridges to go with it. She was so excited when I took it out of the box for her (she knew what it did..she has seen them before).. First it wouldnt let me register it, then it wouldn't take the firmware update, then it wouldn't power on, when I got it back on it wouldn't take the cartridges, and all along it said couldnt connect to internet. So I decided to do some searching and found out that is is basically a expensive coloring book due to the security breach at Vtech, and the software needed has been down for over three weeks now with no promise of when they will have the issue fixed. I'm returning it, and will probably never consider Innotab again. Leappad doesn't have this issue and Amazon Fire offers a really nice kids edition that comes with free books, games, etc for one year, and two years breakage protection.
