This sifting litter box works perfectly if you DON'T follow the directions. The directions say to put the sifter on top of the two pans so the sifter will get covered with wet pee and poop making it impossible to keep it from getting clogged and gross. The reviews I read said this was a problem. Why does this happen? Because the directions are wrong. If you ignore the directions and put the sifter in the middle of the two pans then  you will lift up the top full pan and pour it into the sifter sitting in the empty bottom pan. Them you will sift the litter into the empty bottom pan and then empty the sifter pan into the garbage. Then put the sifter in the now empty top pan and the full clean pan then goes on top.  The one thing I don't like about the pan is the door. It is flimsy and doesn't stay on. Other than that it is worth it.

Works great if you don't follow the directions.

I ordered 2 of these boxes when we moved. I have a smaller version of this and have loved it for my 2 cats. Unwittingly, or ignorantly, I did not fully understand that giant is GIANT. Still, it is perfect, probably better than the old box I have, esp. for 2 cats. It is easy to use and very easy to change. I use XXL trash bags as liners for these boxes and sift out the cat stuff every few days into another trash bag. By doing this, I keep the litter boxes themselves clean and only the sifter is dirty. There is a drawback to this as the thickness of the trash bags does make it a bit difficult to snap the top onto the box but it can be done with a bit of patience. The sifter does need cleaned periodically but not often and odor is negligible. I do add baking soda to the bottom of the pan after I place the sifter in the box. I keep 2 boxes filled but only keep one in the house, trading them back and forth weekly. Right or wrong, it seems to help keep the boxes from holding odors. Probably everyone doesn't have room or space to do this but I find it helpful for me. Also, it allows me to bring the extra box into the house if we are going to be gone for several days.

Biiiigg Box!

First everyone repeat after me, There are no perfect litter boxes because the perfect litter box with come with a robot who would take poop to the trash. Enough said. I love this litter box and one of the reasons is it's size which really is big. Now I have some tips to help you enjoy the sift better. You must know the best depth for cat litter is 3 inches from the sifter. It might seem like much but read on. Most cats want to cover up their droppings and some don't. I have 1 of each kind of cat (one covers, one doesn't) and because I practice the 3 inch rule I can shift my box from side to side to get litter to cover up the poop! Betcha can't do that with 1 inch. When it's sift time I shift the box again from side to side and slap the sides to loosen any clingers Then I sift.  And yes some does stick to the bottom but not alot because of the 3 inch depth and the shifting of the box from side to side. There is also another reason why my sifting is so good but before I do that I want to ask everyone this question, Do you love your cat? Approximately 99.9% of you responded with yes. Good that makes me happy. Now let me ask you, do you not flush your toilet for days at a time.  99.9% of you said ew, no I flush every time. Yes there is that 1% hmmm.... Then why do you let your cat litter sit for days at a time without being sifted? Remember you just said you love your cat. And yes I sift everyday sometimes twice and my cat litter stays very clean and my kitties love that. It only takes me 30 seconds to sift. To those of you who say you don't have time, well, I'm laughing all the way to the garbage can because my house doesn't stink like cat poop. Sift on brave new world cat people.

The almost perfect litter box

Honestly these litter boxes have been such a game changer for our two cats. I make much less of a mess and I don't have to scoop I just pull up they layer that sifts out the waste from the litter. Then when it's time to dump the litter it's easy. The only thing that's a little difficult is getting the other bottom portion that you switch over to when you scoop sometimes get stuck but it will get unstuck with some wiggling. Other than that they are large and make doing littlerboxes not time consuming. If your cat is stingy you can also remove the front door flap. Recommend this product.

Large easy to use litter box, no more scooping!

I bought this pan to keep my pet's mess under control and after a little coaxing she went and used the pan. The clean-up was a breeze and no bags or deodorizers were needed. I wish I would have seen this product sooner. The only set back is that you have to use it with the more expensive clumping litter, but other than that this is a great product. I find my self telling all my family members about it as well. I have to say, money well spent.

Cleaner than gthe real expensive pans

I like this cat box. It works pretty well , it's fast and easy to use. Litter doesn't fly everywhere. If you keep it about half full of clumping litter and strain it daily it works pretty well. This is my second one of these litter boxes, the first one lasted about 3 years. I would recommend it for a low mess, easy to clean, and well made product.

I'd buy it again.

The concept is great. I have a tight space so its kind of annoying juggling a giant cover and basically THREE litter pans. The sifter does do its  job, although I clean the box every day since I have multiple cats using it. The only reason I took away a star was because its near impossible to get the clumps of litter out of the sifter into a bag for garbage without spilling litter. So Ive been using the scooper , which does work, just kind of loses the whole sifter appeal though. 
Also, I would add some kind of handles on the sides of the sifter piece to aid when lifting out and shaking.

Very good  very sturdy

Not recommended for larger (long) cats . They have a hard time turning around.  They end up doing there business outside the box. Very heavy to lift and messy when you need to clean

Think twice before buying.

The dimensions of this "giant" litter box are from the top outside of the outside pan. With the two inside pans, one of them the sifter, the space is a lot smaller. But the most misleading thing about the stated measurements is the pan slopes inward a lot towards the bottom. The area my large and infirm cat would have to move around in is actually a lot less than the regular litter box and cover that I currently have. When is someone going to come up with a covered cat box that really does have more room for the cat to move and turn in? Forget all the sifting gimmicks. Quality construction, simple and truly LARGE at the base is what is needed. Sadly, I had to return this and will probably have to make something. Manufacturers - you are missing a market!

Not so giant.

This does not make cleaning easier. Scooping has far more control, you will spill litter everywhere. All the picking up and dumping litter around is not easier. Litter gets stuck in the grate so it's not a simple dump.

Messy and annoying
