I bought these directly from Verbatim through Walmart, expecting true M-Discs (archival grade, inorganic layer, 1,000-year claims). The packaging says “M-Disc,” but when checked in a Blu-ray drive, the discs show up as VERBAT-IMe-000. That's the media ID for Verbatim's standard dye-based BD-Rs. Genuine M-Discs should report MILLEN-MR1-000.

That means these are basically just regular Blu-rays in M-Disc packaging. They'll probably last 10–20 years if stored properly, but they are not the long-term archival media advertised. Disappointing and misleading, especially since I bought from an official channel and not a third-party seller.

If you only need regular BD-Rs, they're fine quality. If you want true M-Disc longevity, these are not it.
