Nice change from old-fashioned thermometers. I get the results quickly and easily. Nice to have it available for easy access.

EASY-TO-USE THERMOMETER

I tried this product for free in exchange for my honest opinion. The Vicks V906CA Digital Plus™ Thermometer with Extra Large Display is an excellent little device. It is very easy to use. It is small and compact with a large screen. The display screen uses clear large font that is easy to use. I found it was quick accurate and very efficient. This is great when using it on children since they often don't sit still.

Awesome tool

I tried this product for free in exchange for my honest opinion. This thermometer is easy to use and the numbers are nice and large. It doesn't take long to get a reading and with the large numbers, you can be sure to read the number correctly. The tip is strong and hard to break and feels nice and study. It would be nice if there was a better case to protect the whole thing. The cover that it comes with only covers the end. I would like a closeable case to protect the whole device. Overall was nice and easy to use and gets a reading really fast.

Fast and easy reading.

Love that this thermometer has F and C readings. Easy to use.

Great Thermometer

Product was recommended to me by a friend and works great.easy to use

Good product

Quick and easy to use. Reads temperature under the tongue in about 10-15 seconds. My only wish would be if the display was backlit to make it easier to read. The large display helps though.

Fast Result

Well, I bought this thermometer 2 years ago when my son was born, I have had to replace it twice because the back is sooo hard to get open and closed that replacing the battery is impossible (I can open it, just cant close it because it gets stripped in the process), this thing eats batteries like crazy too. It reads quick, which is nice, but it gives a different temperature every time. And even if the temperature is still rising when the 10 seconds is up, it stops it anyways and just gives you the temp that it was at when it stopped. So when my son has a fever of 104 and its at 101 and still rising, it stops at 101 cause the 10 seconds is up and I have to retake his temperature 3 more times to get the actual temperature, then I worry about which temperature was the right reading because the thing is such a piece of junk that I worry if its even reading the temperatures right in the first place!

Overall, I would NOT suggest people buy this product. If its all you can afford then just be warned that you have to take a temperature numerous times for more accuracy, but if you can afford the other 20 bucks to get a good thermometer (like Brauns ear thermometer or something) then do it. Its a good investment and they last MUCH longer, the batteries are much easier to replace, and the accuracy on them is so much better.

What can you expect for 10 bucks?

I bought this thermometer today, and I'm so unhappy with it that it's going back tomorrow. The power switch is incredibly tough to press-I have to use my thumbnail and really dig in. It doesn't beep 10 times at the peak temperature after 15 seconds like the manuals says. It doesn't beep if I have a fever (which I do, 102.3 deg F) like the manual says.

I have no idea why my particular thermometer is such a dog, but it is. Thank heavens Walmart has a no-hassle return policy. I'll try the next model up, and if that doesn't work, I'll switch to a different brand.

Won't beep on a fever or 10 times after measuring

Ordered one of these online to replace an old Reli-On disposable digital thermometer. The appeal of this was the size of the display and the replaceable battery. While the thermometer arrived in timely fashion, it simply wouldn't work. Either the battery was near death or the unit was just bad. Returned the unit to the local store in exchange for an identical unit. Opened it at the customer service counter and - lo and behold - this one was also dead out-of-the-box. Either I had amazingly terrible luck OR the way the manufacturer installs the batteries prior to packaging and shipping causes them to drain while simply sitting unused.

A note about the battery, as well: It uses a CR1225 battery which is difficult to find outside of specialty shops or online stores. In fact, buying the batteries for it ends up being as expensive as the unit itself.

Exchanged the unit again for a basic, $3 Reli-On digital thermometer that worked just fine out of the box (and the new Reli-On thermometers also have a user serviceable battery compartment).
