[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the most amazing boxed red color I have ever used! Vivid, salon results for less than $15! I've been using this for years. Like anything else, sun, chlorine and washing will make it fade some, but it outlasts anything else I've used and can do it at home. Nothing beats this color if you want vivid red hair off the shelf.

I have been searching for a long time for a color like this. It's not so dark that it looks black, like most box colors in the purples. It's very easy to use also. It does fade out to more of a red but it still has the purples mixed in, so I'm ok with that. The color is also very vibrant. Highly recommend!

Beautiful color!

This was the first time I have tried this dye. It is like any other boxed hair dye. I had light brown hair on top and dark brown hair underneath. Used two boxes to dye my long, thick hair. The color turned out almost a plum color where my hair was lighter. I recommend for use on light brown or lighter hair for best color results. I think it looks great if you are trying to achieve an eggplant/plum color.

I find this color lasts longer and without turning brassy as so many do. My hair feels and looks great after coloring. I did find that while I used dark brown in other brands, the dark brown in this brand was almost black. So, I use the medium brown in this brand to achieve dark brown color. My hair is naturally dark brown, but now with grey roots. I color approximately every 6 weeks.

Long lasting color

My 18 year old daughter has a cute pixie cut, and she wanted violet colored hair.  We had it done at the salon, and it looked great, but it faded after just 2 weeks!  SO disappointing -- and expensive.  I talked her into trying a box color -- this is Vidal Sassoon London Lilac.  Wow!!  It is just gorgeous, a deep violet, and it does not fade!  She gets at least 1 compliment a day on her hair, and people even write down what it is.  I am so glad we tried this.  So much cheaper and longer lasting than a pricey salon hair color!

Non-fading, lovely violet color!

I have gone gray at a fairly young age so I decided to play around with fun colors.  I used to use the deeper velvet shade but then switched to the lighter violet so the purple color is more noticeable.  I wash my hair almost every day and it keeps its color for at least four to six weeks, then it's time to touch up the roots anyhow.

Great coverage for gray hair

This is the first time I have used this product and I love the results! In addition to color and shine, my hair is softer and looks healthier.

I love it!

I used this product on pre-lightened/bleached hair and got an outstanding purple. I naturally have medium brown hair. The color has stayed vibrant through many washings. It was easy to apply.

fun alternative color

I purchased this and we colour dipped my daughters hair, about 3 inches on the end.  She has a medium brown colour naturally.  It came out quiet rich purple, more visible in the light of course.  Was a real hit at school.  Now two weeks later and it is still dripping purple when she gets out of the bath tub.  It has ruined my white towels, my white floor mat, my white sheets and my white pillowcase.  We have gotten into the habit of blow drying it so that it doesn't ruin her clothing or more bedding.  So, for that reason, I would never purchase it again.  It has faded in the sun and her ends are definitely more course feeling now.  She loves it though and it is nice that the colour is not too bright or bold.
