Great immersion blender. I purchased it as I make multiple batches of egg bites just about every week. Using a blender, mixer, or food processor was just messy. I chose Vitamix for the quality and the rubber tips at the bottom of the blender which will work well with my Le Creuset Dutch oven and blended soups. I'm very glad I purchased it. The quality is inline with the price.

Just great - Vitamix Immersion Blender

This is a solid immersion blender that is well designed and worthy of the Vitamix name. After many years of Vitamix blender use, we have become used to the quality and dependability it has provided. This “stick blender” does not disappoint and has quickly become a “go to” tool in our kitchen, replacing several previous hand blenders that just couldn't do the job. Yes, this Vitamix is a little bit heavier and, yes, it costs a little more but the fit, feel and ergonomics that have gone into the quality design make it well worth the upgrade. Easy to assemble, disassemble and clean. The one handed operation is easy to use while watching the power level indicator light built built into the handle.

Vitamix Immersion Blender

I am not giving this 5 stars because it really isn't much stronger than my much less expensive Braun.  I do like it.  I like the fact that it separates into 2 pieces, making for much easier storage.  I also like the different speeds.  However, compared to the quality of the Vitamix blender...it isn't as much as I had hoped for.

Not as good as the Vitamix blender

An immersion blender is one of my favorite kitchen tools. I have a Vitamix that I use every day, so I was sure the immersion blender would be as top quality as the rest of Vitamix's products. I was not disappointed. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because of the weight. I have small hands with some arthritis, and the weight of the blender made it a little more difficult to use. I like it enough, though, that I got my son one for Christmas.

A sturdy workhorse

I needed a new immersion blender and this one is very powerful. It's heavy for a petite person like me, I hold it with both of my hands. Mainly I use it for dips, dressings, and vinaigrettes and they always turn out beautifully. Some soups will be velvety but not ones with celery, unless they are cooked/softened to the edge of oblivion.

Depends on types of ingredients

Looks great and the wattage is powerful. However, I had to return it due to learning about its materiality at the bottom of the bell which is not stainless steel. I believe it's something similar to nylon glass fiber (after inquiring w/ customer service, which was friendly and helpful). I didn't want to risk melting that material when I cook, so I had to return it. Other than that, it's a beautiful design.

Beautiful but..

This immersion blender works very well and is great with medium to large quantities of food. However, if the food/liquid does not completely cover the cone part of the blender it does not work well.  I bought this hoping it would make 1 portion sizes of ice-creams made with frozen fruit and a liquid as well as sauces in small portions. It seems this is not what it can do. So for this I am disappointed.

Large Portions Great. Small Portions Not Great.

The ON/OFF button requires one to press and hold continuously in order to remain ON. Another button to crank up the speed can also be pressed and held, though you are allowed to press and release the speed one. The inability to press ON/OFF with a press/release option is distracting; I want the focus of my attention to be on the food that I'm making, not preoccupied on holding the ON/OFF button, which otherwise shuts off and speed goes down to zero. If you like to work fast, and efficiently, this will be distracting and you might find it unnecessary, especially if you've worked with other blenders that allow you to keep it ON.

ON/OFF requires press & hold VERY distracting

Not balanced, tips over easily, not the power I expected from Vitamix (but it's quiet). Doesnt perform as well as cheaper brands and the blade cup shape is terrible.  Food gets stuck and not enough air holes for efficient immersion blending.  Does not come with a mixing cup.

Not the Vitamix quality I expected

The blender worked great for 2 weeks before it stopped working completely. We noticed the motor was getting warm when we turned it on high setting, and it just stopped working. It was not used extensively: roughly 1-2 hours per day. We loved the product, but it is not durable.
