Great immersion blender. I purchased it as I make multiple batches of egg bites just about every week. Using a blender, mixer, or food processor was just messy. I chose Vitamix for the quality and the rubber tips at the bottom of the blender which will work well with my Le Creuset Dutch oven and blended soups. I'm very glad I purchased it. The quality is inline with the price.

Outstanding Performance – The Best Immersion Blend

Best for making small batches of chutneys and sauces. Haven't tried making smoothies yet. Has sufficient power to makes a smooth paste without adding too much water.

Great everyday blending tool

I was looking for an upgrade to my immersion blender. Researched. Researched. Abs Researched. Nothing seemed right. Then Vitamix came out with one and I gave it a try. Like everything else I've gotten from them, it is amazing: powerful, well-built and a machine I know I'll have for years.

Love my new immersion blender.

Not to talk badly about another product, but I used the KitchenAid immersion blender before buying the vitamix line. The bottom-line is the vitamix is powerful and does task that a commercial blender would do effortlessly. 

I'm talking smooth hummus and dips, crushed soups etc. I love it.

Immersion blender

Love it more than I thought I would.  Used it on number of things I wasn't planning to for Thanksgiving.  Took the lumps out of my gravy during cooking, made great relish from whole fresh cranberries, and finished the job my potato ricer started giving me HEAVENLY mashed potatoes.  Super easy to clean.  It is a little heavy but for a very good reason ..... this stick is POWERFUL.

Powerful and versatile!

I bought two no name ones before the scientist spend the money on this one and it does stand up to the Vitamix‘s name. It hasn't burnt out on me like the other ones did or fall apart.. little improvements that could be made would be if the blades were angled more like the actual blender. I think it would cut finer than it does. Also, the grip isn't as comfortable as some of the cheaper ones.

Lives up to the vitamin's name

This immersion blender works very well and is great with medium to large quantities of food. However, if the food/liquid does not completely cover the cone part of the blender it does not work well.  I bought this hoping it would make 1 portion sizes of ice-creams made with frozen fruit and a liquid as well as sauces in small portions. It seems this is not what it can do. So for this I am disappointed.

I bought this to purée soups instead of transferring hot soup to my vitamix blender.  I found it heavy for one handed use-(I assume because of the powerful motor). Also because of its power you have to be extremely careful to leave it submerged in the liquid as it splashes all over ugh

Too heavy

I was so excited to replace my Braun immersion blender with a Vitamix but after a couple weeks I'm going back to the Braun. I mostly use an immersion blender to blend sauces in a pan. With the Braun, as long as there's 3/4” of sauce it blends great with no splattering. With the Vitamix, even with a few inches of sauce it makes a huge mess all over the stove. The blending bell has a bad design for that application — blade is too high and not enough side vents. It probably works well if you pour the sauce into a blending beaker but at that point you may as well use a regular blender.

Perfect in every way, except: to release the blender shaft from the motor, one must twist to unlock, which, for 70+ year old Carpenter's wrists, is a bit difficult and risks a serious onset of tendinitis. Given its performance, the locking mechanism needs to be very positive. Great product, just can't recommend if one has a lifetime of hard work and difficulty with hard twisting motion about the wrists.
