The Aer disc container allows the Vitamix owner the ability to create low-calorie desserts like never before. All it takes is extremely ice-cold skim milk and fresh frozen strawberries (or another acidic fruit) with the lo-cal sweetener of your choice, to make a delicious strawberry (or other fruit) mousse in minutes. Prior to this development, such a whjipped dessert was only able to be accomplished in the home with handheld blenders for one serving. Now an entire family can enjoy a very healthy, low fat, delicious dessert using the Vitamix that they already own.

This Vitamix product has changed dieting forever.

vitamix.com

I'm a professional chef, always looking for new gadgets to make cooking easier. When I saw this I couldn't get it fast enough. Having to wait for 5 days for it to be shipped was torture. I've had my vitamix blender for a couple of years at home ( have several at work ), and use it every day. When it finally arrived, first thing I made after giving it a good wash was lemonade. Lemon slices, simple syrup, water and ice. 45 seconds on high, strain, pour over ice into glasses. Same for mojito's, and other muddled drinks.
Whip cream, 45 seconds, perfect hollandaise sauce in less than a minute. Fresh mayonnaise, less than a minute. If you have not bought a vitamix blender yet, then the AER is the perfect reason to finally buy on.

Best new blender tech in years

I quite like this container and have had fun trying out different drinks. If you are someone that likes to experiment in food/drink preparation you may enjoy the aer disc. One limitation I found is there are not that many recipes that came in the accompanying book. Also if you like to use the Vitamix app (with scale) it doesn't appear to have any recipes for the aer disc or the ability to add this container for new recipes. Hopefully Vitamix will add the aer disc to the app.

Aer disc first impressions

I purchased my Vitamix aer in December and was very excited to try it. The first thing I did was make hot chocolate cor the grandkids and they totally loved it with all the froth on top. I have since used it for whipping cream very poor results. I read it took 15 sexonds no. Was liquid increased time and probably after 4 x 15 seconds got a lightly whipped cream. Just whipped some skim milk for my coffee, following directions to warm it fo4st. Not impressed with the amount of foam over liquid. So far am disappointed as finding it an expensive hot chocolate maker and quicker to use my mixer to whip cream. Do I have a bad product or is this actually the results others get? Would have been nice to have had a recipe book included with product

Mixed R3sults

I purchased my Aer the first week it was offered. The recipe book only has a few recipes; it looks thick because it gives you the same recipe in four languages. The unit is nicely built and does what it says, so if you have a need for any of its functions then you might enjoy it. For the price, I can't really justify its usefulness.

It's OK but hard to justify the cost

I received the Aer Disc Container as a birthday gift and couldn't wait to try out some of the recipes that I had seen online. I was surprised when I found whipping cream to actually be more difficult than using the wet blade as the disc doeasn't move the cream around after a certain point, but before the cream is completely whipped. I do like the hot chocolate that it produced but that is something I can do in the wet blad as well. IDK, I will try a few more things and decide whether this is really a must have or just an extra "thing" I need to find a place to store.

It is ok, but nothing really special

I've had my Vitamix for years and love it, but unfortunately I don't feel the same way about the Aer Disc container. There are only a few things you can use it for, which admittedly is evident from the marketing. Other reviews mention that it comes with very limited recipes, which is true, and very frustrating. However, my biggest issue is that it comes with no instructions at all (except for how to wash it). They do not tell you HOW to use it to foam, emulsify, muddle, or whip. All you have to go on are the measly 11 recipes they provide. Therefore, I've only used it twice, once to make a foamed beverage, which worked, and once to make Hollandaise sauce, which turned out way too thick even though I followed the recipe. I regret making this purchase - it was a waste of money.

Waste of money: Limited use & no instructions

Purchased this during a sale. The recipe book that came with it I have found to be worthless. Nothing in the recipe book that I will make. I've tried a few things on my own and everything has been so-so. I could have just used my frother on my espresso machine. I've looked online for further recipes and not much luck. Waste of money and now it sits on counter, not impressed.

Not Impressed

I am a diehard Vitamix user and have been for years. I bought the Aer and looked at the minimal number of recipes and find it lacking in important information. I would like to know how best to use it. It seems more geared to alcoholic beverages in mostly liquid form. I would love to have more detailed information on how to use this product. I am a raw vegan. I make sauces and puddings. For example, if I put avocado and very little liquid to make one type of pudding, which is very thick and hard on my big Vitamix, would it make a thick pudding without stressing it? But details please. I realize this is a new product, but really need more information please.

Thanks.

What do I do with this gem?

I am a big fan of Vitamix and have been for years. I have almost every Vitamix product and I just bought the Aer and looked at the small recipe book with the very limited number of recipes. I tried to make foam milk but it didn't work. Whipped cream turned out fine but I can do whipped cream in the regular wet blender. Almost everything else in the recipe book such as mayo and hollandaise can be make in the regular wet jarl. So I'm not sure what the specific use of Aer is. It seems to me that the Are usage is more geared to alcoholic beverages. Would love to have more detailed information on how to use this product.
