I'd lost my original tamper and I found that I couldn't go without it! I tried to use substitutes like a spatula but it was dangerous. I finally decided to buy a replacement and I'm very glad I did!

Great product for making the mixing a lot easier. When combining the ingredients for my smoothie, I used the Tamper to speed up the process and make it easier. Very useful and practical. You can still mix the ingredients, the tamper makes it mix better

Very Useful

We use our Vitamix almost daily for smoothies, coffee blended drinks (my wonderful lady is my barista) and etc. One day I washed the thing and installed it with the flange UNDER THE  lid. Bad move. The Mrs. loaded up the blender and proceeded to disintegrate the tamper on the blender blades. So, my bad as I said but please be aware if you put the flange UNDER the lid it puts the lower part of the tamper in the proximity of those uber power blades! I would suggest buying an extra to have "just in case".
By the way, my own pretty little Barista is back to mixing those morning concoctions! All is well here at "Wistful Vista's".

Okay,a necessary doo dad for your Vitamix

Can't live without the tamper!!! And how come I never knew about the those spatulas great product. I think one should be added with ever purchase. I have had my vitamix since 2007 again can't live without it!!!

The Classic Tamper is a wonderful product and so useful with my vitamix.
I use it everyday at least once.
Excellent part of the wonderful Vitamix food preparation system.

Classic Tamper for Vitamix

I ruined my original tamper, so I was glad to be able to get this replacement cheaply. However, there is one change I would like to see in the design. It would be nice if the broadest part of the tamper would have one or two flat sides to prevent the tamper from rolling around on the countertop.

Needs a simple change

When we bought our Vitamix a year ago it came with a tamper but not long after it cracked hence why I had to purchase another one. This one works fine. Just a little dissapointed that I had to buy a new one.

I'm not sure if there are different sizes or not but this one was clearly not of the same quality as the one that came with the blender.  The bottom portion of the tamper was chewed up by the blades on the first use.  I might need a shorter or different one if they exist but this definitely wasn't even as durable as my former one.

My company has over 100 Vitamix blenders in service. The tampers constantly break where the tamper meets the handle. Last one broke on first blend. Great blenders poor design of the tampers

I purchased two (2) of these tampers, one as a gift and the other to replace my original which was broken.  I'm disappointed in the quality of this tamper.  It is certainly not like the original waste on money.
