- you will need to tools to assemble the fan stand and to install the remote battery.
- only took 5 minutes to attach the base and remove the screw in the remote and to install the screw in the remote after the battery is placed in the fan remote.
One standard Phillips head screwdriver and one tiny screwdriver ( the size of the screwdriver head to replace reading glasses hinges )

The only negative thing to say about this fan has to have a 
6-foot clearance on the right side of the fan to circulate air properly because of not knowing this before ordering it I had to rearrange my master bedroom.
I waited 24 hours before I stated my review our bedroom has full airflow now it doesn't matter which part of the room you're at you're going to feel a breeze which is fantastic.

really easy to clean all you have to do is take the vacuum cleaner hose to the front of the fan and then wipe down with a damp cloth the base of the fan so it doesn't build up dust.
If you are used to the circulating fan noise to sleep you might not want to buy this fan because this fan is  *silent*! 

I do plan on buying one more for our living room!!

I specifically purchased this Vornado for my kids room to drown out some of the noise of the house. It is the perfect background white noise and amount of air movement.  All fans create some noise, and Vornado has got it right! A gentle hum is all you hear, but the air movement that it creates is absolutely amazing! You dont feel the air movement yet you know it is moving .

i boughtvthis stricky for sleeping i can not sleep without a fan the vornado is the perfect size i love the remote.. timer is unnecessary.. but ok for someonewho needs it. its not oscillating but definitely distributes the air and makes the perfect  good night noise, i dont like the like on the buttons its to bright while i sleep

mines didnt blow to much air i dont know why but maybe a Defect one not sure but dont like how the picture show it gives you almost a whole 360 feeling when it dose not i like my air when i can feel it not where it hardly blows and you have to turn it a little bit to feel it

Think before buying! The concept is great, the product not so great. I love the timer, remote, and fan speeds- but honestly-  the power that you'd expect from the VORNADO name is just not there. 
  It's a challenge to find the perfect wind direction and you need to crank it to HIGH in order to get the benefit of experiencing circulation. Quiet? It's not. 
  After a week of trial and error, I went back to using my old oscillating fan…. This was a bad buy.

Not worth the price!

it doesnt swivel to move air around (didnt notice that before i bought it or wouldnt have got that model). i ha e had it 2 months and it juat started making a squeking noise on high.

This is far from an air circulator!  There is very little air or cooling on the first two settings!  The third setting, which is high, can barely be felt unless it's a cool day.

Shop around.
