I've had Vernado fans for more than 10 years.  All still working perfectly.  Be sure to get the models with the variable speed rheostat control rather than the ones with only three speeds, it's worth the extra money when dialing down to slower speed range because it's so quiet you can hardly hear it running.  Also, now there are models with remote controls available.

Quietly Cool: At mid to lower settings this fan is unobtrusive yet effective. At higher settings it still lacks the hum and buzz of a less efficient motor. Exactly enough features - the genius remote or front-of-fan-accessible touchpad control the oh-so-handy one hour increments timer and the go-faster-go-slower settings. The fan tilts 90 degrees, and has proved itself as a whole room air circulator when set to bounce off the 12' ceiling at mid-level speeds. It does not oscillate but it doesn't need to. Bottom line: I'll be buying another.

Ever since I received this fan I've been using it every day.  This fan is amazing and does a lot to improve air flow and quality in my bedroom or living room.  I now need to get fans for all my rooms!  Exciting!  Great quality.

Awesome fan!

We live in central Texas, and I am so surprised at how this Vornado helps keep the room much cooler than a regular fan does. I can set the AC to higher temperature, yet it feels cooler. Can't beat it

Excellent

Cleaned my older Vornado and thought I ruined it so bought this new model - fancier with its fine tuned speed choices, much less noise, great power for the small size (my previous were all medium) - but I did not ruin it so I now have black and white - wish there had been a black model choice! -So far this new Vornado is working like a dream, and the improvements are great.  When it arrived, it was cooler weather - nice to keep the speed low.  It has been hot now, and at higher speeds, it is keeping the rooms cool and fresh. at 2/3 max speed ( I have 3 vornados going in 2+ rooms, 750 sq ft)

QUIET POWER

We own several vornados. The best part about this fan model is the remote. The fan does not circulate strongly up to 85 feet. It does an excellent job within 5-10 feet and a weak job at 20 feet even at full capacity. I wish they would make a remote version as a large that didn't require a tall base.

Good fan

Works great, love the remote, the timer and all the choices of speeds.  It's quiet on the lower speeds, but we haven't had to turn it up loud (yet...it's getting hotter).  I like that it's Energy Smart.  

My only complaint is the constant lights.  Even when the unit is off, the giant power button is lit up and when it's on, the display is always lit up too.  It would be great if there was an option to turn off the lights because we have this in the room where we sleep.  I don't know why everything has to have an "always on" light these days.  If it doesn't turn on, I'll know it's not plugged in - I don't need a light to tell me!  These lights are so bright I almost sent it back, but it works so well and I figured I can just tape over it.  Would be nice not to have to, though.

Works great but why all the lights?

I bought this model mainly because of the variable speed selection.  I was extra pleased to see it had a remote.  I love the fan, but as another reviewer noted, the remote is not as responsive as I would like it to be.  You need to be directly in front of it, and I've even had to raise my arm to make the remote work.  I still am a big "fan" of Vornado!

Love the variable speed!

This 6303DC fan is smaller diameter than the 20+ year old Vornado variable-speed model 280SS that it replaced (worn out motor bushings, non-repairable). The air stream is strong if the fan is at a high setting. Otherwise the flow is weaker. The 99 levels of speed are nice & are easy to use. The remote control seems unnecessary but works well. I really like the built-in timer so the fan doesn't run all night after the bedroom is cooled off. 

Overall, I prefer a larger diameter fan than can run slower / quieter and still move the same volume of air. Slower air movement is more comfortable -- that's why ceiling fans are loved. However, truly variable speed Vornado fans are pricey, but there are alternatives.

Strong airflow, but a bit noisy

I bought this after hearing it is a quiet fan. I have found that it is quite when from level 0-15. After that, you can definitely hear it.
