This kit is a lifesaver and helps me get the water back on after a leak in the house. It is a must have for any handyman. The flame easily adjusts to your desired level and the handle give you a perfect grip and control. The self ignition also is a plus and the adjustment knob is perfectly placed

Excellent. I have 2004 Chevy Silverado and want to add fog lights, for that I have to cut a hole in the plastic low side of the bumper. And with this torch I heat a cutting knife and I was able to do it with no effort. First time I used one of this. Very impres. Steady flame and easy adjustment, and start on the first click.

This is a beginners kit to soldering copper pipes! I'm not as proficient with soldering, but it was the most affordable kit on the market for soldering and was available when I needed it the most.

Walmart is better on price and quality !

No other means of fire to start it required. just install head, turn on and press trigger. I used it to renovate car plastic parts do to white build up.

When I first received the torch, everything worked flawlessly so far as I could tell. I used the torch extensively in the following weeks at work; however, after some period of time (between 1 to to weeks of heavy use) the Ignition stopped lighting the torch, no idea what happened there.

Stranger yet, is that every once in a great while ill hit it just because I dont feel like going to grab a lighter, and it will start.

Being relatively unexperienced with these using I cant really comment on much else. I will say though, that the adjustment know is extremely sensitive in the low flame range. Just a light tap on the knob is sometimes enough to extinguish or burn something if you are not completely aware. With that said, it is certainly possible to get whichever size flame you desire, even to one much less hot than a typical lighter.

4 Stars, because regardless of the aforementioned issues, it has never failed me when I needed it, and because I am still, somehow, on that first propane tank!

Self ignition is touchy at best.

The flux was essentially empty and the solder wire was also very short. The torch and gas are standard.

Does The Job

It was probably just me, but you pay approx $13 more for this kit than the torch alone. Not a great deal of solder, but expected that. The flux however was almost non-existent. I saw no sign that any had seeped out of the container, but I had an amount that would be stretching it to say the total amount was as big as a dime. That includes diameter and thickness. Not enough to solder 1 copper pipe fitting. Hopefully this was just a factory misfill

Flamless open/close propane toy??

this kit states torch and tank , only had tank , not worth messing around having to return in person why order online when they wont come pick it up n exchange
