put 2 of these in our crawlspace. odor in the closet over the entryway has disappeared. humidity has dropped almost 30%, proved by the outdoor thermometer sensor I hung from a floor joist.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using the smaller version of this product for a couple of years in my basement game room. To see this in a “mega” size is great. Having used a dehumidifier that you had to plug in and then empty every time you turned around, this product is a welcome change. It is so easy to use, plus no loud noises from a plug in dehumidifier! You just open and pour the crystal mixture into the top of the receptacle, put the lid back on and set it where you need it. The crystals absorb the moisture in the air and when the crystals harden and forms a liquid that drips to the bottom of the receptacle, you dump out into your toilet and flush away. After the crystals are all dissolved, you replace with new ones. It is septic safe and I like that I can't smell any mustiness. This should last at least 6 months depending on the dampness of your area.

I LOCATED OUR DAMPRID CANISTER IN A 4 X 15 X 8 FOOT CLOSET IN MY MOTHER IN LAWS BATHROOM, IT IS A LARGE BATHROOM. I HAVE HAD IT A SHORT TIME SO I CANT TELL YOU WHAT KIND OF SUCESS IT WILL HAVE REMOVING THE MOISTURE, BUT I WILL SAY AGAIN HOW EASY IT IS TO SET UP AND USE. I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO UPDATING THE REVIEW IN A FEW MONTHS WHEN THE RAINY SEASON STARTS IN CALIFORNIA. SO FOR NOW I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND TRYING THIS SYSTEM IN A BASEMENT,BATHROOM OR ANYWHERE THAT MOISTURE COULD BE AN ISSUE.

VERY EASY TO USE

This is an amazing product.   I placed it in the basement  and a day later the mildew odor was gone.  The basement was so fresh.

Instructions need to be a little more specific regarding what part is NOT removed - had to ask a friend that used this size already. I use much smaller one, hoping this works just as well for the size.

Just got it so not sure how well it will work. Didn't come with any instructions so hopefully I put it together correctly. We will see!

I am an avid user of Damprid. I use their hanging ones in all my closets. I bought these large ones for my basement and within a week they became hard as a rock with no water flowing down. I used a fork to break it up and a week later it was hard as a rock again. Very disappointed with my purchase!

Just turned into a hard block

I have used Damprid before in other sizes and they seemed to work since all the crystals were gone and there was liquid goo at the bottom of the container.  I decided to try this larger size due to the smaller ones needing more frequent changes.  I put one in my garage and one on my first floor (I don't have a basement).  Both of them have hardened and there us almost nothing except maybe a few flakes at the bottom.  Temp for my first floor is around 60F or higher.  Garage is obviously colder.  I have had them for over 4 months and I don't see any movement.  I was hoping that I could use this as opposed to my dehumidier but at this point it looks like it was a waste of money.  Not sure if I have any options except to leave it or throw away since it doesn't seem to be working.  I just expected something after 4 months...

Doesn't seem to be working

What a waste of money. Hasn't done a thing to remove humidity levels in my cedar closet. Still sitting at 62-67% depending on the day. Forked over the cash to buy an actual dehumidifier, which brought the level down to the low 30s within a single day.
