I placed the old product container under the kitchen sink a year ago after a couple of minor leaks and checked on it recently and it was heavy and was full of moisture. I think it's the best thing to keep under a sink that has had a problem so it can draw the moisture out of the particle board and help to prevent further damage. Very impressed!!

We started usind Damp Rid in our laundry room and were amazed to see the amount of moisture it absorbs from the air. No more problem with soap powders caking up!

Great product.... the ONLY thing I would possibly recommend to the manufacturer is for the LID ( to be made larger) to be used as a saucer in case there is any overflow... would prevent a mess.

Attic dampness

Love this damrid bucket as it lasts a good long time (depending on your dampness level) but I use them in my closet to keep clothes fresh by my appliances and even on an open shelf in living room. I am always amazed at how much dampness it pucks up when I don't feel it at all and even when weather is cooler and it isn't on my mind like summer humidity.  Great price. Easy to use and toss.

A MUST HAVE

This product works well to absorb humidity and transform it into a liquid that can be discarded. I do wish it would be designed with a user-friendly  removable covering so the collected water can be disposed and be refilled with fresh absorbent crystals. As it is, I learned to cut the top to remove the collected water and refill with fresh crystals and tape the top back on the bucket.

DampRid is the best product to use when you have that damp mildewy smell in a basement, laundry room, closet or any place in your home, RV, camper, or wherever—DampRid will help. I live in Houston where it's very very very humid, so I keep the DampRid large size containers (4 pounds, which has become very hard to find) near the front and back doors and in the laundry room.

You absolutely know the product is pulling humidity out of the air because soon you'll see water start to accumulate in the container. As long as I use DampRid,  those problem areas of my home, no longer smell damp or mildewy. Just keep your eye on the line in the container which tells you when to replace it.

Got that mildew smell around your house?

The Damprid containers really should have an additional lid that keeps the buckets from dumping the damprid chemicals out onto the floor or trunk of my car. I've spilled the chemicals 3 times. Once for each bucket I've purchased. That is absolutely ridiculous. He'll, your pictures on the damprid containers show a picture of an upper retaining ventilation cover. But not one came with one. Are you guys serious now. You make it expensive for the bigger container %26 then I accidentally knock it over %26 half the chemicals fall out. Your picture Clearly shows a lid with holes in it. There's no such thing in the shipment. I'd be better off putting these chemicals in some glad bags with holes in them. Something that at least holds these 1000s of grains of chemicals in the bucket that isn't the lid? Or am I just supposed drill or cut holes in the lid myself? Absolutely silly.

Chemical spills but works

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It would be impossible to rate this product so soon after purchase. It's not an instantaneous fix.

This is the second bucket that arrived with loose crystals already in the bottom, and even after a week in our musty and damp crawl space, it's not absorbing anything.  I'll give it a few more days then they are both going back. Will look at another brand.
