Bought one to try. OMG, what I found! Bought another, and that one actually produced a worse outcome. Apts are now immediately calling out a specialist to test professionally and correct it. Grandson and I have been unexplainably ill for a couple of years now, having done many tests. So ecstatic to finally have an answer as to why we've been SO ill. Buy one plate for each area to be tested, ie: air vent, each room, windowsill, bathroom, garage, etc., if you have multiple room concerns.

I suspected mold in my rental and I did each of the three types of test, including the ventilation system and unfortunately I had results for each. I sent that one to the lab to learn specifically which types I have been breathing in and hopefully results will be in soon.

Worked three out of three tests

This mold test worked great. I showed my leasing office the Petri dish results, they ended up purchasing the same test %26 sent out for the results. It was black mold %26 we moved ti a different apartment. Make sure to follow directions. You can only do 1 type of test. I smeared the swab from 2 different locations (garage %26 inside of air vent/duct) on opposite sides of the dish. May not be able to do it like that if you're mailing in the results, but it worked for me to prove mold was present.

This did what it was supposed to… but also stressed me out.

Easy enough to use and results show up, but then you are just sitting there staring at it like okay… now what. It tells you something is there, but not much beyond that.

Good for a basic check if you are concerned, just know it might leave you with more questions than answers.

Helpful, just not super detailed.

I would probably look into more thorough testing if I needed real answers.

I can't recommend or not recommend this product. This was not something that I was actually looking for. I should have read the reviews before I pick this item out. This item only had one sample in there and it was something that you would have to send in for results. I should've been more cautious of what I was buying. recommendations I do not know. Thank you.
