Scratching is normal and instinctual for a cat and it does it for many reasons. Though scratching cannot be prevented, it can be controlled by redirecting it onto acceptable objects. Wahl Scratch Deterrent Spray has been specially formulated with citrus oils to help deter cats from scratching furniture and other surfaces. Cats are known to dislike citrus scents and will stay away from surfaces that have been treated.

I bought this recently to prevent damage to our leather furniture from our cat scratching and it appears that it is working!

Usefull spray

I bought myself a new bed for Christmas and was so terrified that my cat would use it as a scratching post (like my old bed). So I purchased WAHL before my bed was delivered. I followed the directions on the label and sprayed it down for 5 days in a row. I'm very pleased to announce that my purr-fect little friend hasn't once touched my new box-spring, she just jumps onto the step (that I sprayed with catnip) and jumps on my bed so we can cuddle and watch some TV together. Thanks WAHL!

WAHL Scratch Deterrent Spray

This spray while nice citrus smell did not work to deter my cat from scratching and/or chewing on anything. The cat walked by through and over everything sprayed and continued to scratch the couch. Cheap and ineffective.

Cat furniture scratching repellant

DO NOT RECOMMEND FOR CAT
I'm a very particular cat owner. Strictly indoor cat. We moved to apartment few months ago and everything has been great until I started using this product.
After 3 weeks my cat became sick, vomited 10 times in the house and I needed to rush her to vet for emergency. Blood test and Xray came back all clear and normal but she does not eat at all and drooling around the house.
After a few vet visits we ruled out everything as the food, treat has not been changed for years. Only the spray is something new in our life. After stopping using it my cat slowly got back to normal. Vet thinks my cat scratch the sofa and ingested the liquid from her paws.

Cat got sick

Do not keep my two cats from eating the Christmas.

I wasted money on this. It does the opposite of what it says. I'm pretty sure they secretly put cat nip in this junk. I'm afraid to sit on my sofa because I think it might collapse on me, and my cats STILL scratch at it. I followed directions to a T. When it didn't work I used the whole bottle over the span of a month hoping that would help instead. It did not. I paid money to have my apartment smelling like disgusting mosquito repellant and to have my throat burn when I walk in the living room and accidentally breathe. Save yourself the money and time and DO NOT buy.

Please don't buy this

I have been spraying this everyday for the last 4 days. Does absolutely nothing. The furniture is still wet from recently spraying it and my one cat is laying on the chair and the other is scratching the couch. Disappointing. It stinks like citronella-it's really only making the humans in my house not want to be near the furniture. At least this spray can be used outside on the patio furniture to hopefully deter mosquitos in the summer.

Don't bother

This product smells great but unfortunately didnt stop my cat from scratching. I have sprayed it on my new dinningroom chairs for a week and he still jumps up and lays on the chairs. I have had to by thick covers for the chairs and he continues to scratch.

smells great

doesnt work. it smells good, but my cat doesnt care, still tries to scratch every sprayed surface,

not a good buy

I sprayed this on the couch for 3 days, and both my cats ignored it. Waste of money in my case.

Doesn't Work
