Despite the negative reviews some people have given, I went ahead and purchased this at my local Walmart.
For the price, please don't expect a stainless steel chassis. Vibration? How do you think a trimmer/clipper works??? Of course it will vibrate.
And I have used other brand names in the past. They vibrated just as much, if not more. All clippers will get warm. It is an electric product that also causes blade friction. (You know, how campfires were started?). 

Now for the review. I have cut my own hair for years now. Doing buzz cuts, with fades, fine lines & designs.
And I can tell you, it works great. Easy to use, easy to clean, easy to swap guard sizes. The edgers and trimmers are a nice accessory to have and work well.

Not one single hair pulled, it clipped like a charm. The fade on my hair is flawless, and weighs a lot less than a stainless steel clipper. If you do this for hours on end, you will be happy for the light weight. The trimmers edged and fine tuned my cut, my beard, stray hairs effortlessly.

If you bought a faulty unit. It might just come down to someone else bought it first, played around with it, and screwed it up. Gave it back, and it was repackaged. Not the fault of Wahl.

No, I am not an employee, spokesperson, etc for Wahl. I just want people to know this product works really well. It was easy to adapt to, as the guards on my old Andis went by size numbers from blending, to 8. So it was easy to adapt as the numbers are there too, right in the middle of the other 'inch' and 'mm' measurements. Simple, easy, and  clearly marked.
The hairclips, combs, capen and spray bottle were a nice added touch. The scissors and mirror though, will be good for others. But I already have multi-sided mirrors, and professional scissors.

All in all. One great box of goodies! And the price is well worth it!

A solid & great product for the price

I bought this today it ISN'T loud doesn't pull hair...and honestly works great...if you have problems with it return it or contact wahl Corp. Sorry if yours isn't up to par.

Perfect for home haircuts

The largest cutting unit vibrates more than any cutter I have owned. It was uncomfortable to hold from the moment I turned it on due to this but it cut well.

Very hard to use

Got this item shipped well i assumed, I got it on time and used it to cut my 2 sons hair once then the next time i went to use it the blade on the big clipper wouldnt work just kept making an extra noise but no blade was moving. Terrified to use it again on my young boys hair since i dont want it to cop out in the middle of a cut so money wasted for me at this point.

Not overly inmpressed..

The main hair cutter does not cut very well.The other trimmers I have no idea how to use because the instruction book is limited to the main cutter.Decent price but I've found little to redeem this kit.

Terrible

Purchased this barber kit as I have been cutting my boy's hair for many years and it was time to replace the one I have (other brand). I opted for this one as it comes with trimmers as well as a nice bag to store everything. When I opened my kits I was sadly surprized to see it was not very well made , compared to the $18 clippers I have been using for the past 8 years. It comes with a lot of "unnecessary parts", made of plastic which might break after very little use. But I was still wanting to give it a try and tried to cut my son's hair. The machine is very loud (almost like a lawnmower...) and it shakes/vibrates so hard that after just a few minutes of forcing myself to use it my fingers & hand got numb... I had to finish cutting my son's hair with my old clippers... So I will be returning this kit to the store. Big waste of $$$$ Absolutely not worth it as its not useable. Do not recommend. The only good thing about this kit is the cape!

Very dissapointed!

I bought this and returned it right after I tried to use it. If you need a hair clipper that can not actually cut your hair, but pulls it and chews it instead - this hair clipper is right for you. But I guess that is not what you are looking for.
I spent about 2 hours trying to make my haircut. Quite a disappointment. Did not succeed anyway. You can imagine my frustration when I had my hair cut only in part but got really tired trying to make the stupid machine do its job properly. In the end this machine was waste of time and nerves and the only thing it offered was a frustrating and disappointing experience.
