First Time

I built this deck a year ago.  I waited a couple months for the first application to allow the wood to season, yet protect it for the upcoming winter storms and snow.  I applied a second coat yesterday.  I use a roller and brush to apply.  We receive nearly 300 days of sun per year and we also experience all four seasons.  I am very pleased with the product.  I prefer a clear coat since it accents the warm natural tones of the wood.  It also does not leave any pigments or other residues behind.  Be sure to follow the directions and don't over apply!  Keep a towel handy to wipe off excess oil when needed.   I like the product so much that I am now using it on my utility trailer and grandkids playhouse.

Great Value for Clear Coat Protection

I built a new house and have a covered front porch/entrance made of wood. I thought it would look good to add some color to the wood. What a mistake. This product does not stand up, and after less than a year it looked terrible. Large areas had faded and peeled. I am stuck now to have to annually sand and reapply this terrible product to cover up the mess, as I can't apply any thing else over it. I wish I had never applied this junk. I have just retreated it again hoping to get a few months out of my porch and will eventually tear up the porch as I'm tired of what its done to my entrance deck. I will redo with composite. I hate this product!!!

Garbage...stay away!!!

Bought one can to make sure it was what I wanted.  Started applying to my brand new fence;  I was immediately disappointed.  Not at all as pictured.  What a waste of time and money.  Really distraught with the disparity between pictures and reality.  So wish I hadn't ever put it on my fence!

Not At All What Was Expected!

I applied this product according to the instructions. my surface was acid stained concrete which is 7 years old. I applied the sealer with a roller and the temperature was approximately 85 degrees. After over 48 hours the sealer was tacky, so much so that you could not walk on the surface. Pressure washing twice with a detergent had a minimum effect. Only after two more cleanings with a degreaser was I able to walk on the surface with still some tacky spots which needed attention. I have used other water based concrete sealers before which have all had very fast drying times and did not remain tacky even after several applications within the same day. Always used Thompson's products in the past and I thought I would revisit the product line. I am sorry I did.
