If you are looking for a replacement or first transom mount trolling motor for your Jon boat, then I would highly recommend the Watersnake brand. I purchased the 54lbs. thrust Tracer. I fish for catfish regularly. Those of us who catfish know current can be a big plus when locating them. This motor will push my 12' boat just fine against the main river channel current. I'm sure it will really move on in the smaller waters, but I wanted to really put it to test on the big water. I'm also impressed with how little battery drainage there is. It passes with flying colors! If this company decides to really push its brand in the larger stores and outdoor stores, I would be shaking in my boots if I was associated with any other brand. This is one of those rare occasions when I believe you get Better quality at a Lower price. If I am ever in need of another trolling motor, it WILL BE a Watersnake.

Outstanding Trolling Motor

Well worth the small price tag as this motor halls booty! I use it in the ocean in Oceanside, CA. It goes through waves no sweat! I installed it on a 14 foot inflatable dinghy and intended on keeping it aboard my yacht as a safety life boat however, on my initial test drive around the back bay my wife and I had sooo much fun we cruise around the beach and harbor area at least twice a month now. No problems. If you want a kick-butt motor, buy this one. Cheers mate!

I put the motor on a 12' John boat. The motor is awesome. If you are looking for a trolling motor, I highly recommend the watersnake. I have own other top brand names, and the Watersnake will be my only choice from here on.

With four adults on the boat, this motor moved it with ease and at a good speed. Worth the money!

Very Happy with initial purchase.
I have been shopping trolling motors and after reading other reviews and kicking props I feel I have found a very good deal in a trolling motor, from it's great styling to the HEAVY DUTY transom mount this is one tough customer. I have yet to go out for a test run due to the weather but as soon as it clears I will take it for a run on the lake and let you know how it performs. I will be using it as a kicker on my 14 ft flat bottom and as power for my canoe.
The only caution I have so far is the box it is shipped in needs more reinforcing and better styrofoam around the motor unit. The box came in bad shape but the motor was fine without even a scratch.

Great Value Fast Shipping

i purchased this and used it once so far on my 12 ft inflatable boat. you have to buy a battery for it and a motor mount and you rock in the water. it goes faster than i expected and very smooth. it comes already together just to connect to battery. very good for the price.

great product

I bought this for a 14ft Jon Boat and it works good on it.. I used to have a 34lb Brunswick and you can tell the difference. I used it in the lake so far to go around the coves and stuff like that. The use of power on it is pretty good. I charged my battery up before the day to use and used it for about 6 hr, not consistent. When I returned home and checked the voltage on it was still at 10 volts on the battery meter. So I would say its a pretty good trolling motor and would recommend it for someone to upgrade.

Pretty Good

As in several other reviews the shipping carton arrived with one side open and I was very lucky that the prop was still in the carton. The ends on the battery wires did not fit on the battery terminals and had to be filed out. To some this may be a problem. Motor runs great and shipping was fast.

Very good deal for the price.

took this thing out one time, I am very disappointed in this motor had power, I am used to using a Minn kota Traxxas I know the price tag on that's a lot heavier it is definitely worth just getting them in kota, Minn kota helps shed the weeds when you get into lily pads any kind of grass this thing just tangles up not enough power to power you through anything.
