Wished had stabilizer 30 years ago, makes cleaning gutter easier and safer, allows getting on roof with over hanging eves safer, keeps ladder off guttering to prevent damage to guttering

I clean my gutters every few years even with gutters guards.
Each time I get terrified cleaning my gutters.
I saw a YouTube video and went to home Depot to buy this Werner stabilizer.

10,000 difference on the ladder. Now I can dance, text, do selfies, and have clean underwear from almost 30'.

Sadly did not know this product existed.

To begin, I'm 74, have emphysema and use oxygen; if that's not enough, I'm just getting back into shape and in the swim of things after several years of recovering from a severe set back.

All of the above is probably more information than you need but it's just by way of letting you know how much this stabilizer device means to me as I go about cleaning over 65 feet of gutters and installing gutter screens.

Until a couple of months ago, I was doing so without your "literal lifesaver"...; Thanks!!!

Great Safety Device....

I used this on my MT-17 ladder today to paint my facia boards.  This kept the ladder very stable but more importantly to me was, it keeps the ladder from crushing my brand new roof shingles.  I would recommend it for either reason.

Excellent assessory

I have a couple of these for years now.  Life saver for anything above eight feet.  Makes ladder very stable and is great for saving gutters from ladder damage. Install is so simple and is clearly marked directly on the stabilizer.  I recommend this with the purchase of any ladder!

Excellent product for average homeowners!

these are fabtastic. as for the review below that says make one out of PVC and U Bolts, that can spin while you are up on the ladder, and that can be very dangerous, i advise. The hardward provided with this unit has aluminum pieces which prevent this. Werner has researched the safety of these extensively, as well as others im sure , and i choose never to enter a roof or work on a ladder without one of these standoffs. safety factor in my opinion. multiplies in your favor many times over. thank you.

excellent product

While this accessory kit takes a bit of time to install, I certainly enjoyed the stability that it brought to my ladders. I felt far better three stories up than ever before.  The one addition that I suggest Werner make is to add a second paint hook that slides on the bar.  With only one, you have to choose which side to put it and it can't be moved until uninstalled.  Having two would allow the bucket to be placed on either side. I paint with either hand so I like being able to move the bucket side as it is safer than reaching across.  I expect this costs less than 25 cents to manufacture and I would gladly pay a dollar more to have it included!

Just needs one more piece!

I purchased this unit for my Werner extension ladder. The narrow angle clips only work if installed opposite to what the directions call for. No where on the box does it say only for aluminum ladders or do not use on fiberglass ladders. I am still using it with the current installation and it seems to be okay. A tip from an old timer, put a little finger nail polish on the threads of the u bolt, this will keep nuts from backing off and break away easy when it's time to remove it. .

This stabilizer came to the market around 2014 as a great life saver.  So why 3-star? Because of two reasons. (1) The instruction fails to mention one of the accessory components that are found in the bag: Narrow Angle Clips. How they can be used is missing. (2) Rubber end cap does not last long enough to function as was deigned for as it wears out faster than users expect.

Missing Info and Low Durability of End Cap

Fits my Werner MT-17 ladder, but not well. Quality of the components is good, however I'm not impressed at all with the design. Unit strikes me as a quick, poorly thought out after thought rather than something that was thought of ahead of time. Fastening method is crude at best consisting of a couple of U clamps and some wingnuts. When installing, it bends two support braces in the ladder before it comes in contact with the main vertical rails. Unit does help to stabilize the ladder, but because of the poor design I'm leery about using it. Doesn't instill much, if any, confidence. In my opinion, Werner needs to redesign and re-engineer so that it becomes more of an integral part of the ladder when attached.
