I love this slow cooker so much.  I love to make fresh beans with smoked turkey in it.  It is so good for slow cooking.  I can come home at lunch, put my food in it, and its ready when I get home from work.  Best buy!

Used a WestBend slow cooker 25 years ago until it wore out. Unable to find a new one until recently. These new slow cookers functions exactly as the original did. Purchased a 6-quart size and have already made three of our classic meals, which came out the same as it did years ago. I prefer a WestBend slow cooker over a crock pot as you can braise meat in pot over the stove and then place on slow cooker base to finish cooking. Redesigned base is a nice feature also.

it works very well true but considering what I wanted and how much more I got I'm a very pleased person. I need a lot of room in the pot I needed quality cooking and ease of use as I'm old. I got all of that and so much more and had a good price old people need good prices!

PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE WORDING IN THE DESCRIPTION BECAUSE THIS IS NOT A 1 QUART BUT AS YOU CONTINUE TO READ IT SAYS IT IS 5 QUART.

GREAT PRODUCT

Runs quite hot even on low. Watch your cooking times and temps!  Clicks and ticks a lot. I've used this brand for years and this is my third styled like this one though the cook base has changed over the last 30 years. I truly dislike this one but wouldn't buy any other brand. Plus I don't like ceramic slow cookers and this one isn't.

Unremarkable

I have had two WestBend slow cookers that I used for years.  The first one was a gift from my mom in the 1970s.  I used it for years, until it was worn out.  I then purchased another one about 20 years ago which I also used a lot, but when the teflon on bottom of pot started to flake off I had to discard it.  So I purchased the one I have now.  Unfortunately it is not as well made as the first two that I had.  The older style was an oval pot with plastic handles which could be picked up without using pot holders..  The new one is very thin metal and the base barely heats up, plus It has no handles on it, just a little edge that sticks out on each end of the pot which makes it hard to pick up.  I have used it twice and do not like it at all.  VERY disappointed.  I don't know why the style was changed.  It was NOT an improvement.

Disappointed

After second use, while hand washing, not dishwasher, noticed several bubbles in the non stick coating. Bought this to replace a 30 year old west bend, not the quality of the old one at all.

Non stick coating failed after 2nd use

I was in need of a new cooker i had my other cooker over 20 years and hated to replace it but i bought this one and when i received it , it looked nice so i washed it and decided to make a pot of vegetable soup this was the very first cooking in it after the soup was done i transfered it to a big bowl and noticed little bubbles all on the bottom of the cooker not good not just a few a lot like it was scorched with fire , i didn't even have it up to high heat just med to cook the soup, i called walmart and they are going to replace it , so  will review again after i receive it and try it out
