Butter cap snaps-on for popping, providing better butter melting. Improved better well butters popcorn as it pops. Vent holes release moisture, ensuring great-tasting, crunchy popcorn. Dishwasher-safe cover doubles as a serving bowl. Stir rod keeps kernels moving to prevent burning. Quick Start Guide 1. For family serving size (6-quarts) add ¾ cup kernels and 3 tbsp of oil to the popping plate. 2. Place the cover on the base, add up to 3 tbsp room temperature butter to the butter well, if desired. Snap on the butter cap. 3. Plug unit in and press the “on” switch. 4. After about two minutes, popping will start and the popping is complete when there is about 3 seconds between “pops”. 5. Popcorn popper works great.  Most of the kernels pop and doesn't burn any Popcorn.

Great new features from previous models

Makes excellent popcorn! We still own an original one of these over 28 yrs old. Still works but the finish is almost gone on cooking surface. On this new one, we had to adjust the height of the rotating wand and it could be better made. The ends are not smoothed-off and could scratch the finish off the surface, or your hands, or make pulls in nice tea towels. Simple little "important" part and it's being cheaped-out on.

Great popper!

Because there are not enough vent holes, the popcorn absorbs the steam and become stale in the cooking process. We returned it, and DO NOT recommend it!

To test that theory, I tried making it without any butter...Still came out stale (not crispy)

Stale popcorn!

I bought it on February 28, 2022, it has run for 11 months. The corn no longer bursts. Its effectiveness of breaking down the grains to decrease little by little. I don't think it's hot enough anymore. Now I've returned to the old fashion, I do it on the stove in a simple pan, and the grains pop without problem. I do not recommend this thing, which is not worth the price.

Not sustainable in time

I had a Stir Crazy popper 30 years ago when we were first married and it worked great. It lasted many years but eventually I had to replace it and the style had changed by then. I tried the newer style and ended up returning it. I've tried different poppers in the last years and none compare to the old Stir Crazy. My last one was probably the closest in design (Popflix brand) and it worked great but didn't last more than a year or two. I decided to try this Stir Crazy and regretted it immediately. It leaves way too many unpopped kernels and I tried several different kinds. The small Lady Finger popcorn was a disaster. Only popped about half of the kernels. Back it went to the store and I ended up buying the Popflix popper again. I'd rather buy a popper that only lasts a few years if it does a good job than one who only pops half the kernels. We eat popcorn at least once a week so it gets heavy use!
