Just what I was looking for. 3" W 3.25" H was the perfect size. 
I am using it to teach my kids to learn the concept of and how to tell time. 
The ticking is just loud enough they can both see and hear as the second hand progresses around the clock face. Of course, I guess I could have bought a digital clock and they would not have to think at all.

This clock is very small, the last one I bought was a little larger and you could read the numbers better

It didn't work, right out of the box with fresh batteries. Or rather, it worked for 17 seconds and then never moved again. I was forced to throw it out really, because you had to return it to the manufacturer, not Walmart, and they charge 2.95 shipping and handling plus the cost of MY sending it to them and the hassle of packaging it and taking it to the Post Office--wasn't worth it. Stil, be forewarned: THIS IS NO BARGAIN!

- AA battery required, no electric cord - Ticks very loudly. No way can you sleep next to it! You will hear it from the next room. - Luminous hands don't glow enough to see the clock at night. They only glow for a few minutes after you hold the clock up to a VERY bright light. Certainly not for 8 hours.

The snooze/ light button jammed the first day. It caused the light to stay on which drained the battery after half a day. Unusable. Ready for the trash.
