This has been a favorite of mine for years. So when a new member of the family arrives (baby), I usually purchase this book for them. There's one poem that states "We are all the same in the dark"! Isn't that true?!

I'm a teacher, I remember Shel Silverstein as a child. Mr. Silverstein was an awesome poet, his poetry is very descriptive. 1/2 the price of Barnes and Nobles.com.

I am a retired Elementary Teacher. My favorite book to share with my students was -Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein. I bought a book for each of my children's families to share with their children. I am sure they will enjoy his book.

Good book that I remember reading as a child and was nice to share it with my child and see them enjoy it, too. Perfect condition. Pictures were a little weirder than I recalled… lol. But yeah. Good buy.

This is one of my favorite books! I just had a little girl and I bought it for her for when shes older. The poems and stories are so fun for adults and children. Everyone gets a different meaning out of them.

favorite books!

Bought several Silverstein books for my kids when they were young.  Saw this while searching for something else and had to send to my 7 yo granddaughter who loves to read.  Turns out my daughter in law had it as a child too, so both mom and dad were excited to be able to read this with her.

Best book ever,, have the book for many years, getting worn and want to keep my old copy. The grandchildren love the stories and am happy to find the new one to pass it around. Thank you for having it at a great price. Read this book many nights, laughing to the wee hours,,Great memories,

Great read

it's a classic poem collection for kids and adults alike. I read it when I was growing up through the library and school. I just bought my 9 year old a copy. ( I never had my own copy.. ) so glad I can do that for him. have enjoyed reading a few pages with him and it shows them a different sense of humor. if you have time to sit and explain things to them, they'll get it. and end up enjoying it as well. get one... it's funny.

Very fun book for children

Let me say that my family and I have a great sense of humor but...
I can not imagine exposing a child to this book and I have to wonder about the author...I gave it one star only because this site does not allow NO stars.
The first thing I read was a full page about how someone ate a baby and her things would have to be given away and how they would not have to wipe her nose any more or check to see if she was dry...
Then there is the delightful little thing about a person not having anything to put in stew so they will cook themselves and not scream while they are being boiled..and it reminds you to enjoy them with crackers...
There is the happy little mood-lifter about the Googies, who come to buy children....50 cents for the fat ones, thirty cents for the clean ones and so on....
Can't forget the kid who is grabbed by an eagle and "he dropped me in a boiling lake a thousand miles wide and you'll never guess what I did then--I DIED."
Can not overlook the one about being eaten by a boa constrictor..
