I love this book. I had the paperback as a kid. I read it over and over until the pages started to fall out.  My 5 year old niece loves the library. Goes every week for story time. She takes out books every week for my sister to read for her. She knows some stories from memory. I think this book, with the beautiful illustrations, will be something she will cherish growing up. I think kids of all ages should have a copy.

Where the Wild Things Are is the wonderful story of Max, the Boy who would not eat dinner, and goes on a wild adventure in the night. The artwork is moving and the short story is easy to read for toddlers, up to six years old. The book is sturdy.

Let the wild rumpus begin!

It's a classic. Pictures and story still a hit with kids. I like to add a  "wild things dance break" for the kids in that middle no words part. They get to roar and gnash teeth and show claws and wave their arms around with the wild things while I sing Boom Shaka Laka or Wild Thing You Make My Heart Sing for a minute. All the details in the pictures make it fun for the kids to spot new things they hadn't noticed before (that monster looks like the mona lisa!) and point out old favorites (look at max's pouty face!  so funny!). I hope the book stays in print for at least 50 more years.

My children and grandchildren loved this book. I bought it for my great grandson and he loves the bright colors and fun characters.

Book I read years ago and needed to add it to my collection. Love it. Great for adults and kids.
