This unit does a great job with cooling. The new inverter technology is a game changer for making the room more comfortable. Love it. I was skeptical about the nested dual hoses but it seems to really work and is much easier to deal with. Window kit is very useful. This time I got the model with the optional heater and it is great! It’s an actual heat pump! Because this is just a portable the heat pump only works down to 40 F but it’s a great supplement to the gas furnace and taught me how very comfortable heat from a heat pump is.

This air conditioner/heater has surpassed expectations. This was my third unit because the other two did not work. My first Whynter and I should have bought one sooner. It keeps the space at a constant temperature. Great product.

Great product

Perfect for my needs. I live in an older home and needed supplemental cooling/heating for my upstairs office. This is my first and only portable AC unit so I can't compare the noise level with other options. The marketing makes it seem like the unit is silent. That's not true. You will notice it when it's on. However, that's probably true for any portable AC. If you really want the quietest option, look into window or split units. That way the compressor is outside of the living space. 
Installation was a bit annoying. They supply an expandable sheet that fits into the window. This is accomplished by using multiple plastic panels that overlap. However, if your window space is 0-5" wider than one of the panels, you cannot use the second panel to expand without covering the cutout that the hose fits through. I really wish they supplied a second panel wasn't the same length as the one with the hose cutout.

Good for supplemental heating/cooling

Was looking for  a portable AC unit that also had a heater function to use in an apartment living/diner room area. Just received the unit today and everything seems to be working as described. App also is intuitive and easy to use.

Great Value for an AC unit with heater

Excellent and super convenient to have both heating and cooling in a single machine. It’s exactly what I needed. Also has all the needed features such as being WiFi connected (and hence automatable) and having a pump for the heat condensate.

I’ve been really impressed with the Whynter ARC-1230WHN. It cools my space quickly and consistently keeps the temperature down, even on hotter days. The mobile app is a great bonus—it’s easy to use and makes it super convenient to adjust the settings without having to be home. Overall, it’s a powerful and reliable portable AC that’s been working perfectly for me

Good product

Very impressed with how this unit can pump out the cold air even when the outside temperture is 103 degrees! I purchased this unit to try and cool down our single car garage in south AZ. to be able to work in it. The walls are block with no insulation and when we pull our vehicle in the garage after traveling it gets well over the outside temperture. 

It got tricky when it came to installing the window adaptor. Luckily, I'm am handy and figured it out. Be aware that the sealing tape that has the adhesive is super sticky and the foam is very easy to damage. It will NOT be removed/reinstalled once it touches a surface.

The unit is expensive but it is multi-functionable for various applications and uses inverter technology. For whatever reason, my unit does not work with a 20amp GFCI outlet. I tried 3 different ones with no other load on the circuit and it always tripped the GFCI. It worked fine when I moved it to a non-GFCI outlet. The hose should be a foot or two longer. Most garages have windows higher than a room window. A inch shorter and it would not have worked for me.

Blows out 56 degree air when it is 103 degrees and can keep my garage at 78 degrees (what I set it at). The garage is 14x24x9. 

Top of the line unit that works well and a recommended buy.  I also would recommend to purchase the 4 year extended warranty. Better company and way less expensive than if you purchase a warranty throught Amazon if you bought a unit from them.

Great unit with minor setup irritations

This CAN be a great AC, Test it thoroughly first. Be careful with packaging.
I order this from another company and they dropped it. Broke in less then 20 days using it. 
(S.D. Heat) I got a new one from walmart, I will have to review the manul, though the heat function im struggling to get to work. so be very carful with it. Works great, Rather fragile. Doesn't vibrate too much and holds well when raised.

I'm using it for a full one bed, and did the job keeping my whole place cool. so no issues when it is working.

I like the unit. So far it seems good but the hose was broke when the unit came the part of the hose that is attached to the windows. I want to call but I am going on a trip overseas and don’t have time now
