Today&#39;s Classic Double Edge blade retains the original precision -honed Wilkinson Sword Edge, but has been improved by Wilkinson&#39;s famous triple coating process of chromium to resist corrosion, ceramic for added durability, and PTFE for less irritation. I use a traditional safety razor.  Tough beard, tender skin, and the disposables don't work well for me.  They're also an ecological nightmare.   

These are very much what they were sixty years ago,  sharp and without rusting, with very long usable life.

Hard to find these nowadays and those I tried, did not shave me smoothly. I used these long ago when growing up and they are still great. Smooooth shave.

Great blades

Ever since my favorite lady gave me a couple razors that use the Wilkinson blades I have been very satisfied with these blades  and they last for a long time.

Wilkinson Blades

Great shave, like all DE blades, the second shave is generally the best, as the first is a necessary break in. Good for 5-10 shaves per blade, depending on the coarseness of your beard. Always dry the blade after shaving and you might even get a dozen shaves per blade. The performance stats quite consistent shave to shave until the blade finally goes South, so you should get at least 4-5 great shaves minimum before you need a replacement blade. The blade is on the mild side of medium aggressiveness, which is perfect for average beards. A more coarse beard might need a more aggressive blade. The blades are made in Germany and the quality shows, although some production is made in India in some parts of the world and it also has good reviews. If you like the characteristics of this particular blade, you can buy it in a box of 100 or 120 and really save a lot on your shaving. DE blades should be used in one long smooth pass, like 3 passes maximum, using just the weight of the razor. Do NOT shave with the same speed or pressure as you would with a disposable multi blade or you will get nicked. Get an attitude pencil and a good shave brush and bowl or mug for your soap. (Regular shave cream tends to clog up the DE safety razor in my opinion, causing more frequent need to rinse the razor.) Always get a good shave soap too! Your skin will thank you. Shaving with a DE Safety Razor is far superior and nicer to the skin than regular shaving. With practice, it really doesn't take any more time. Just requires attention.

When cleaning out my father's linen closet, I found an old straight razor
that takes double-edged blades.  I didn't know they still made those.
So, I found these Wilkinson blades and thought I'd give the razor a try.
It was the best shave I've had in decades.  No, you don't need a throw
away razor that has 2, 3 or 4 blades that get all gummed up.  An 
old-fashioned straight razor does a much better job.

These blades get harder and harder to find anymore in stores.  So buying online is simple and fast.  
I've used my same double edge razor for over 56 years.  These Wilkinson blades give a clean, smooth shave.  I'll definitely buy the multi pack online thru WMT again.

Easy ordering and great blades

The Wilkinson Sword Classic blades, made in Germany, are my go-to razor blades.   These are the ceramic and Teflon coated blades, as opposed to their other stainless steel only blades.  They are smooth and yet cut well.  I would rate them as moderately aggressive, but sharp enough for me, without causing irritation.  I usually get 4 good shaves per blade, if I prep my face well and use a good shave cream.
