Bladder Durability

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] He loves his ball! He's had it a couple weeks now and he's had no trouble muddying it himself! He said he loves the feel of it. This is his 4th football; his 3rd GST.

GST FTW

wilson.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Man where do I start? It was like the leather from these footballs are sent from the heavens above. The football I received was perfect. This is only my second ball in over 10 years. The durability of this ball is amazing (if properly cared for) the white sewed in stripes are a perfect touch for the grip aspect. This is the only football I am able to throw tight spirals with. Keep being great, Wilson.

Football made from the Gods

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have purchased this style of football for our youth football program the past 3 years. We usually get 10 new footballs a year at minimum and always recommend this ball.

Proven as the Best

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Wilson GST football's leather is great quality. The size is perfect for 12 year olds. They can grip it well and control it easily.

Perfect grip

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great grip and material have been purchasing this ball for several years and will not change to any other brand superior quality!

Wilson Youth GST Leather

I have purchased 5 Leather GSTs over the past 2 years. I had a deflating issue with our 1st ball. Since then, I added a few drops of glycerin to the inflation needle prior to pumping to the new footballs. This helped the inflation needle glide into the stem, preventing punctures, cracks and stretching. All of which will lead to air leaks. No more deflating issues since using glycerin.

But, I am truly disappointed with the quality and detail of these footballs. Especially the smaller balls (pee wee and junior). The noses on these footballs are hideous! Some have bigger underbites than a British Bulldog! The sewn-in stripes aren't flushed at the seams because the leather panels are so badly misaligned during construction. It is troubling to think that these leather GSTs are made in the United States, and even more troubling to think that whomever is inspecting these doesn't see a problem with defected or irregular footballs prior to leaving their facility. Leaders at Wilson, managers, quality control personnel, factory workers... you have to do better.

Deflation Issue Hack - Terribly Shaped Footballs

I bought three footballs last year and they didn't even last a year. We rarely used the balls and we are getting ready to start the football season and they started deflating. They will go in the garbage and I will look for another manufacturer to purchase leather footballs from.

I was actually in the process of buying more thinking the balls deflating may have been a fluke. However, after seeing the other reviews stating the same problem I will pass.

Balls Deflate

Mine has a big underbite on one side and is square in shape. I was hoping it would break in and be rounded but no go.

Square Shaped

On our third youth leather football and all three have deflated and won't hold air. Even tried to baby the ball, keep it out of hot car and bring it inside every night. All three balls failed.

Youth footballs don't hold air

Purchased all the various youth sizes for non-profit youth organization. Of the 9 balls purchased, only 4 hold air for more than a day or two. Not sure if it's a design defect…prior models didn't seem to have this issue.
