i bought it while i was vacationing with family in Cancun so we could play on the beach. expectation my daughter would play one day with it then wed leave it to some other kid on the beach. she loved it the color and the ball so wee had to buy an extra bag just to take it home. we loved it so much. volleyball typically makes my arm hurt but not this one!

I bought this a month ago to play a pick up game with friends. After a short amount of game time everyone was complaining that the ball was too hard and causing pain. I've never had a problem with this brand otherwise. So much for soft play technology.

Second time I bought this ball. First time was 1 year ago and under the outer layer seemed to be foam. That ball was nice and soft. Bought 3 weeks ago, this ball is flawed for sure. Everywhere there is a seem the outer shell has cracked and come away from the stitches area. We have always brought the ball in, never left out in the weather or sun, yet it has spontaneously split and cracked the outer shell all over. Now it's like playing with knives.

It seems that there is a theme on this review page.  Although some say the ball is soft (what you would expect with a name like "SoftPlay"), this ball is unreasonably hard.  My daughter, wife, and I all agree that you can't play with it for more than a couple seconds without thinking it's painful.  We will be returning the product.

Too hard

Bought soft play volleyball for granddaughter to learn with and cannot get it to hold air.  The inflation valve area is different than what I'm use to seeing on sports balls, its just a hole.  I'm thinking this is a defect in manufacturing, they did not install valve to inflate then keep air in the ball?!

I just bought this for my daughter who wants to learn to play volleyball.  I spiked some to her and found this ball to be very hard.  It's almost like using a light basketball.  Don't let the name fool you.  This is NOT a regulation volleyball and I would know as I played in high school.  Don't go fake leather.

Hard as a basketball!

I bought this ball today and it's so hard. I thought it'd be a nice, soft ball to use to teach my boyfriend how to play volleyball but we both quickly learned it was WAY too hard to even pass to eachother. Wasted my money, don't recommend.
