The Wilton Black Cookie Icing is quick-setting and microwavable, perfect for decorating sugar cookies or any other roll-out type of cookie. It's so easy to use, just heat and squeeze using the convenient cap and let your creativity run wild. Decorate fun cookies for birthdays, holidays and more with this  Cookie Icing. Great for using on roll-out sugar cookies or gingerbread, this orange icing sets quickly, so you can enjoy your baked goods in no time! And, since it's pre-colored, there's no need to worry about adding food coloring. Simply warm the icing in the microwave, then pipe it on your cookies straight from the bottle. Once decorated, let your cookies dry for 30 to 45 minutes before adding additional decorations. One bottle is enough to cover about 16 (3 in.) cookies. While this icing dries smooth, it does not dry hard (like royal icing). Icing will spread or smear if cookies are stacked.

Perfect cookie writing icing

This icing is easy to use and is delicious. I received this product for my unbiased review.

True black color, but not the best consistency for writing words on a cake

Use for flooding, not fine detailing

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this, as black is hard to make homemade and not turn out gray. It was too thin to line cookies with and smeared when used as detail. It also had an off-putting taste.

Very thin

Directions said to warm in microwave before use. This made the icing far too runny and very difficult to write neatly with. Almost ruined my cupcakes.

Not good instructions on bottle

I think this would be better used as a dye mixed with brown, navy, purple or any already dark color.

seemingly mislabeled

I went through the reviews and didnt head the warnings of bad reviews, i would of mich rather went without black icing then had wasted time getting this one. All it sis was pool like water and had no stiffness what so ever
