True to size.  Purchased online. 
I wish they were a little more narrow in the heel and mid foot - this is how my Merrell hikers fit and I'd hope these would be as snug. Alas, they aren't, but still a well fitting shoe. I was disappointed in the lack of arch support. I'll need to supplement with an insert. I bought these shoes for a Disney trip. Walked about 20-22K steps a day for 4 days straight (pavement, flat). I could feel fatigue in my medial ankle and arch from the lack of support. Otherwise, they were ready to perform! Comfortable. No hiccups, no blisters, no “new shoe” pains.

I'm a novice who started dating a seasoned outdoorsman, and I bought these in anticipation of our first hike together. Whether wearing the thin cotton socks I wore for the initial shoe consideration or the thick wool socks I eventually wore on my hike, the shoes fit snug without being too tight anywhere. Our hike took us along a rocky coastline, the deep woods, and a community trail on the side of a cliff, and my shoes kept a solid, stable grip on every surface as I matched his pace. My feet didn't register any of the exhaustion or blistering I've gotten wearing different shoes on similar excursions. And something about the color options put some extra pep in my step! We were both very happy with my purchase.

A Fantastic Shoe For A New Hiker!

I love Merrell shoes the fit my feet and are so comfortable. I bouts these and they arrived 2 days before I left on a trip to Peru. No time for breaking in, I wore these shoes every day walking over cobblestones and city streets for miles and miles for 2 weeks. These shoes helped me climb up to Machu Picchu.  I LOVE. MERRELL

MACHU PICCHU and beyond

These shoes and all Merrell's are my go to for all day comfort. I have an old knee and foot injury and these sneakers are light, stay tied, and do not cause me any discomfort. I do put my own orthotics in, but the Merrell footbed and arch support are superb! Thank you. I wear a 9.5 woman's which feels true to size and I way 240. Enjoy!!!

Buy Them!!

I have been very disappointed in the Alpine Sneaker.  The shoe did not hold its shape, even upon initial wearing.  The shoes feel filmsy, not supportive.  The sole design is grabby.  They are not the quality I have learned to expect from Merrell shoes.  I won't be buying Merrell shoes again.

Terribly disappointing

Love these shoes! I feel like they've even made a huge difference on my posture and how I stand. I'm so used to wearing flat shoes that these were just amazing! I purchased the 7.5 and I'm glad I did not size up another half because they were more than perfect with some space still there for my feet. I'm true 7.5 typically, but merrell boots I have had to size up on.

Sweet Kicks!

I have five pair of Alpine sneakers in various colors, and I will buy more. I teach special education in a historic high school that has beautiful marble and old school textile floors.  I put in a lot of steps everyday, and these sneakers bring me comfort all day. They also sport great colors that are fun!! Who doesn't love fun?

Who Doesn't Love Fun?

Purchased these for a trip to the UK.  These sneakers were great.  From slippery, wet cobble stone streets and long days with many steps, these sneakers held up and kept my feet dry.  They were super comfortable with no blisters.  They look great with jeans or leggings.  Very happy with my purchase.  They run very true to size.

Great walking sneaker

Super stiff sole; it's like wearing a foot cast. I think a lot of people are cool with that degree of support or even looking for it, but it was the opposite of what I was looking for unfortunately. Otherwise comfortable enough. No fault to Merrell - it's just a lot of shoe.

Too stiff and binding for me

Love the Alpine!  Have three pair SO FAR, and about to purchase a pair for my Wifey.

They are The Best Rave Shoes.  Took me from The Dance for 3 Days on the CONCRETE of Hart Plaza for Movement Detroit with no hurties; to the SUPREME HANDLING when Dancing in the squish of the Farm Rave @ The Great Beyond Festival in the middle of nowhere Minnesota to the Indoor/ Outdoor Winter Snowstorm Danceries in my hometown in Michigan...  they are The Best for fit, feel, FLAIR and durability for the real dancers.  Bouncy and very flexible, rubber bouncy bottoms, slide easy too!!  Get yer moonwalk on!  
Extremely comfortable right out of the box.
