The article is not quite the same as in the photo, but they are the same functions on the keys. You should take the time to read the instructions and go through the functions to get familiar with the device. Once done it is very easy to use. Efficient and no need to think about turning on your devices.

Excellent for the price!

This timer is the greatest.  It automatically adjusts as the days get long/shorter - so you can have the lights come on at dusk and not have to keep changing the on time as the time of sunset changes.  Also, it automatically adjusts for daylight savings time so if you have it programmed for lights on at dusk - off at 11:00 PM it adjusts to the time change.  Lastly, it has a battery back-up so in the event of a power failure it retains it settings.  Theoretically, once you set this timer up you never have to adjust it again!

I have bought 5 of these and have given some to my adult children.  They like them very much as well.

Yes, you have to read the instructions to program them - with this many features comes a degree of complexity.  If you just want a timer to turn lights on and off at certain times then buy another timer.  But if you want lights to come on when it gets dark in June and when the sun sets in December - a difference of four hours, then this timer will insure that the lights come on at just the right time - not too early or too late.

I would recommend this to anyone I don't like. Gives you a free headache. My wife is extremely happy with the purchase of this product. If it works I will provide update! Might be good if you want divorce.

Great for tracking sunrise/Sunset changes each day.

Came on time.  Easy to program and clear instructions. Not to mention the low price

What I ordered didn't look like this. It must of been a newer version. I only ordered this product because I have another on just like what is shown in the picture. I know how to program it so that's why I ordered the same style but the “newer version” showed up. Not what was pictured.

This time works well if you manage to program it correctly. I use the daylight savings time feature and the automatic sunset time feature which is handy. This unit is NOT easy to program. The screen is very small, not backlit and hard to read, especially setting the ON and Off days. The days are displayed at the very top of the small screen and are very hard to see. The instructions to Program the Timer have an error. After step 1, you must press the TIME button before proceeding to steps 2-5. If you don't, you cannot properly program the timer.

Finally, this is a set it and forget it timer. If you need a timer that you need to override all the time, then this is not the timer for you. There is no override switch. You have to change the MODE to override. Since there are six modes, getting the timer back to where you want it can be confusing and frustrating.

Works if programmed correctly

I bought this timer about a month ago to turn on a light for the dog while I'm away at work.

Well, beyond the cryptic programming instructions, the timer never seemed to work right. After the timer was finally programmed, I'd plugged it in to the wall, the light was on and went off as programmed. The next night, I came home to find the light wasn't on. I looked over the instructions, double-cheked it was programmed properly, turns out the timer was off. I used the manual switch to turn it on, and the light worked and shut off as I'd programed it.

I came home the next night to find the timer was off (again). I turned it on, no power to the light. I tried the outlet on the other side of the timer, same result. After plugging the light into the wall directly, it powered on. To be sure, I tested the timer with another light, the results are the same.

Never worked out of the box

these will take you about 45 minutes to an hour to program. they are unnecessarily complex and the instructions poor.
