Three years in the field and I've yet to see a C235 go down mid-shift - the engine is built to a 40,000 page monthly duty cycle and it consistently outperforms that spec in real workgroup deployments. Fuser reliability and feed consistency are where budget MFPs typically fall apart, and this device holds the line on both without requiring the kind of preventive maintenance cadence that drives up total cost of ownership. For the price bracket, the mechanical dependability is genuinely impressive.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Xerox C235 is a solid all-in-one color laser printer that works well for home offices or small businesses. It prints, scans, copies, and faxes, and the setup is fairly straightforward with Wi-Fi and mobile printing options.
Print quality is sharp, especially for text and everyday color documents, and it's fast enough for regular use without feeling slow. I like that it has automatic double-sided printing and an automatic document feeder, which makes multitasking easier.
It's compact but sturdy, and the touchscreen is easy to navigate. Toner can be a bit expensive, and it's not meant for photo-quality printing, but for general office work it gets the job done reliably.
Overall, it's a dependable printer if you want something efficient, professional-looking, and not overly complicated.

All in one printer

I bought this hoping to replace an HP.  It took over 2 hours to install this printer with numerous failures and restarts.  Windows Update did not recognize the installation (for driver update) and driver update in the device manager was grayed out (unavail).  2 hours later, several of the applications such as print (from xerox print/scan exp) still don't work and reinstalling, the XPSExp doesn't recognize/find my printer for the IPP driver.  I don't have enough experience with this printer to comment on quality, speed or ink value but so far, this is the most cumbersome installation of ANY device since I've owned a computer (c.1989).  Trying to print from USB is also problematic as there's no way to scale a pdf that was not created in the same format (ie a document for 8.5 x14 will simply print off the page rather than scaling to fit 8.5x11). As much of a hassle as it will be, I'm considering returning the product.

Installation NIGHTMARE

I bought this printer about 6 months ago and am quite disapointed with it. It seems to jam very easily. It is overcomplicated to use and although the initial print quality was good, once we replaced the black toner, and it was a Xerox original, we used NOT a compatible. the quality of the black has deteriorated

Difficult to use and poor quality

I tried buying two of these. The first one wouldn't turn on. The second one had a problem detecting paper. It also sometimes put a small but noticeable notch in the top of the sheet. Seems Xerox lacks some quality control. Kinda a shame too, the colors on this were pretty good even in dark images. Way better than the similar color laser printer from the leading competitor.

Given Up After Two Defective Units

You would think that simply feeding paper through the machine and printing the odd word on it would be simple enough, but no: Thick paper, thin paper, regular paper, glossy, plain; you name it, this pile of rubbish will struggle. Some days it relents and does its job and, when it does, it prints ok, but most days it says 'no'. The machine goes through the motions, tries to pick the paper up, fails and tells the operator to load the paper tray. Maybe on the fifth or sixth attempt it will accept that the tray is full after all, but there's no knowing from one day to the next. It is by far the worst printer I have ever owned..

Hopeless.
