My cat had to have surgery on one of her paws and this is the cat litter that was prescribed in order to help keep out small particles that other cat litters have. This has small pellet like litter that are about 3/4 of an inch long and does absorb all of the urine since it is made out of newspaper.

No clumping, therefore, if a cat gets any between her toes and licks to clean, the ingested litter won't clump in her stomach or colon as clumping litter would -- I've had this happen and it cost a lot for the surgery to remove the clumped litter. 2. No chemicals that might harm a cat if he ingested, or otherwise is exposed to chemicals used in most other litters. 3. Very reasonably priced and an 13-lb bag lasts many days; I have 3 cats

Yesterday's News is the only litter I purchase!

This is by far the best cat litter I ever used. I never new it was available until I unfortunately had to have my cats front claws removed and my vet suggested it. I haven't changed since even though I only needed to use it for healing purposes. At first I thought it was is expensive but the length of time it last far outweighs the other options out there. I've been using this product for well over 5 years and have no intentions of ever changing.

This is the first litter that we have found that does not smell after time. My only complaint is due to my walking around the house barefoot. The cats drag the pieces everywhere, and when you step on them, they can be quite painful.  But, highly recommended.

Great litter that does not leave a smell.

We've been using this litter for 30 years. Our Tonkinese breeder was using it and thought our new kittens would do well to continue with it. That was 5 Tonks ago and we still love it. It doesn't clump, therefore no ingested clumps to block their digestive track. It's available unscented which helps prevent UTIs. It is recycled and disintigrates when put into the landfill. It's the most thoughtful for the cat and the environment litter out there.

The best and here's why...

I have been using Yesterday's News since before Purina purchased the rights to it. Very low dust-my asthmatic cat's symptoms have reduced dramatically. Odor control is best I've found. Absorbency is fabulous. Works the best when waste removed daily.

Best Litter

This stuff was more mess and hassel than it's worth. I wanted to get something a little more eco-friendly and I saw that Yesterday's News was Veterinary reccomended. It ended up attracting flies and my cats weren't too fond of using it either. One of them stopped using the box. She went back after I switched back to the regular litter. Not sure which Veterinarians are recommending this stuff, but you probably shouldn't go to them if they do.

Yikes. Flies EVERYWHERE

I bought this for some kittens I'm fostering. Because they're young and recently were spayed, I couldn't buy clumping litter. This was recommended. It's bad, guys.  There's really no way to clean it, I have started dumping the litter box each day. The litter swells, but also crumbles, so it's a wet globby mess. Only use it if you absolutely have to.

This is a horrible product.   The paper breaks down too quickly and does not even last a week like the breeze pellets and the other pellets i have tried.   The consistency it breaks down to is nasty and so dark you can not distinguish the poop from the spent litter.   It is also very stinky...    When it breaks down, it looks like dirt and is so thick that you can not scoop it....  I end up having to throw the litter out with the poop.... meaning I have to refill it much quicker than other brands

I liked the fact that the cats couldn't track it outside the litter box; however, when scooping twice a day, this litter isn't sifted out and much of it is removed during scooping. The cats didn't seem to like it much, either. The texture was great and tracking is nil. It's a no from me and my cats.
